Combining two of my favorite things — the City of Cleveland + yoga. THIS is what summer is made of for me. And I’m so grateful that Yoga Rocks the Park is back for another fun season.
If you’re not familiar with Yoga Rocks the Park, here’s the story about how this national event series got its start:
On a sunny weekend morning in Denver, Colorado seven years ago, the first Yoga Rocks the Park (YRP) event took place, bringing to life and inspiring a passionate movement. Motivated by a mission to cultivate a sense of community, peace and joy for all beings, Erik Vienneau (Founder & CEO of YRP) and a group of friends ventured out to a park in Denver, hung a few prayer flags in the trees, and moved their yoga practice to the beautiful open skies of Colorado, to a soundtrack of live drums, surrounded by Mother Nature’s beauty and gifts. Erik and his yogi friends collected donations in support of a local nonprofit organization, which would become an integral part of our organization and philosophy.
The weekly Cleveland event features an all-levels 75-minute vinyasa practice led by our awesome local teaching community. Practices are accompanied by local musicians and the practice features a kids yoga practice, Camp YRP, for the little ones while mommy/daddy are practicing!
It should be no surprise where my love of this event series comes from!
