I’m still in a bit of shock that I’m going back to work after having a whole week away from reality.
It’s easy for me to get overwhelmed after having a couple of days off, let alone a week.
And even though my week will be full of sitting at a desk, inside of a giant office building, on a city street,
I’m going to try and find the beauty in the every day moments.
That means finding the beauty on my way to work. When I’m in a crazy rush getting Ari to the sitter and making my way into the office — I need to remember to find the beauty in that moment.
That moment will never be again. And I need to remember that every moment, the good and the bad, is beautiful.
So this week, I’m going in as prepared as I possibly can be; I’m going to roll with the punches, put on my game face, and do what I can. The house might still be a wreck from vacation cleanup, my email inbox at work might be overflowing with issues that require my attention, and laundry may be in desperate need of folding, but that’s OK. Because I’m going to do my best and not get overwhelmed. Because if I get overwhelmed, I’ll miss the beauty.
What’s your mantra for this week?
after a relaxing weekend i’m giving myself the same pep talk. luckily this is a short week for me, but man, breathe in, let it roll, breathe out, ha.
