This weekend we traveled back to Amish country [where we both grew up] to have lunch at a Chinese restaurant with Chad’s family. It was a lot of fun seeing everyone. And Ari was so smiley and happy! We’re always nervous he’s borderline meltdown when we go out to eat.
But Sunday was a whole other story. Chad and I both made it to the gym [which was empty — hooray for everyone spending the holiday with family instead of the gym! Gave us a lot more time to #getfit!]. And then Crazy Baby came to town. Exhaustion + teething + downright refusal to nap. Ugh!
This week it’ll be the same ol’, same ol’ at work. But Thursday morning I have a dentist appointment, and hence a half a personal day. So it should break up my work week enough to keep me sane. Too bad I’m terrified of the dentist! 🙁
I’m excited to have scheduled a date day for this Saturday! Our sitters’ high school-aged daughter has been practically begging to watch Ari — which is awesome, cause really we’re due for another date. Here we come, West Side Market!
I’m addicted to the post-workout high! Seriously. And because of it, I’m committing to hitting the gym hard this week!
I wish that Ari would sleep through the night. Or that I can learn to survive with broken sleep.
I’m happiest on days when Babycakes has napped sufficiently. True story.
Weekly mantra:
Rachel, have you considered sleep training Ari? I did it for my son an it worked beautifully. I highly recommend reading/skimming “the sleep easy solution” after three nights he slept 12 hours straight. If you want any tips please let me know. I’m happy to help.
it’s fan-tabulous that you are still making time for your selves both at the gym and with dates, kudos!
