I’m getting to this a little late, but I swear it’s for good reason. Last Friday we (and by we, I mean Ari, Remy and I) took an impromptu trip to Columbus to visit my sister and her family — and my mom, who happened to be in town from Kentucky. So by the time we got settled back in at home Sunday evening, I was basically dead to the world (and, of course, had to catch up on house things I had missed while I was gone).
And this week has gotten off to a bit of a rocky start. Monday just wasn’t the day I was anticipating. And that’s alright, I guess. But it’s hard not to be discouraged when your week is bad from the start, am I right!? I suppose Tuesday was a bit better. I mean, the work day flew by and I ended up getting a gazillion things marked off my to-do list, so that was a major win.
Perhaps this week can turn around after all!
I’m completely grateful for the opportunities that blogging has brought into my life. Without divulging too much information right now, there are some big things headed this way and I’m so, SO, excited!
I’m most content when I’ve had a couple of hours asleep, snuggled up next to my four year old. There’s just something about his little warm and flailing body that I find comforting.
I still really wish that Remy Bea would sleep through the night. She happened to randomly sleep through the night twice — yep, twice! — while we were in Columbus. Sure, it was great. But I, of course, still woke up — looking at the clock, thinking, ‘I wonder when she’s going to wake up to eat…”. So that part was a lot less lovely. But DANG! A girl could get used to that!
I’m happy. Things certainly aren’t perfect, but I’m okay with where things are right now. The chaos; the busy; and all of the love.
Weekly Mantra:

PS. It feels totally amazing.
Haha! I love this! Been there done that more times than I would like to admit ha!
Definitely been there! The past few days my baby girl (22 months) has been super clinging and I cannot get anything done. I love the cuddles, but man … I just need a breather! Making good use of nap time to get stuff done 🙂
I am more happy about the opportunities that are coming you way from blogging.
I think we should all take some time to think about what we are content and grateful about. This was a nice reminder!
My 4 years old still wakes up at night too, just once but still. I need a straight sleep.
Please share your big blogging news with us when you can. 🙂
I feel like “sleep through the night” is such an elusive term. It should probably be banned. haha.
I hear you! Sometimes it helps to just get the negativity out!
YES! Swearing TOTALLY helps! I always say swearing is better than hitting!
My six year old recently learned some swear words from kids at school, and this is sort of similar to what we told him, haha. We explained that sometimes, things are so bad or so stressful, you’ve just got to say a naughty word to get a little crazy out. So I love this mantra! (He would too, except we told him he can only swear when he’s in his bedroom until he’s older. Hahaha.)
oh man, that was me yesterday. I actually was stress/anger cleaning and then ended up getting a migraine. Being a mom is rough sometimes, isn’t it?
How sweet lol. All love to you and your family!
that is totally my mantra (and not even joking ! ha). my almost 2 year old still wakes up nightly, so I feel you girl… it’s rough! one day we will sleep!
Sometimes, you just gotta “let it go”… ugh I’m sorry… now it’s in my head too…. 😉
Oh, my have I been there. Love your weekly mantra. I’m sharing it right now!
Sometimes a nice “oh sh*t” under your breath can really cute what ails ya. Can’t wait to see what big things are coming your way!
YES! Been there… like every day this week! hahaha
