This weekend was pretty fantastic. My mom came up from Kentucky to finish up some wedding reception to-dos. We can’t believe it’s only a few weeks away! Everything is pretty much ready to go, but making sure all of the details come together can be a pain in the butt. And, unfortunately, it’s one of those things that you can’t really delegate to someone else.
After a lot of errands {think Trader Joe’s for wine, Costco for beer, Starbucks — twice — for tea + coffee, Kohls for a maternity shorts, Hobby Lobby for mason jars + picture mounting accessories}, we headed to a surprise party for Chad’s aunt’s 65th birthday. It was a really beautiful {and hot!} day full of family + food. And my mom got to see Chad’s cousin + cousins girlfriend who are also expecting their first baby in November!
Sunday I woke up to see my mom off. It’s sad that she’s so far away, but I appreciate that she can be here as often as she is. Afterwards, I went to Babies R Us {surprise, surprise} to add a few more things to our registry. I realized that I had forgotten some major items, and I started to panic a bit. Unfortunately while I was there, I ended up getting really sick. So the rest of my day has been spent on the couch with a big box of tissues and Chad catering to my whining and crying over feeling like crap. Just yesterday I was bragging about how happy I was to avoid getting sick up to this point. Oops!
But the one awesome thing about today was that it was Chad’s first soon-to-be Fathers Day! 🙂 For some reason Fathers Day feels way more real than Mothers Day did. Maybe it’s because we know that Baby L is a little boy, so it has officially hit us. And I was able to get Chad a Fathers Day gift that I knew he would love:
He loved it! I had a feeling that this would make him smile, and it made me smile from ear-to-ear to know how happy he is to have a little guy to play catch with soon!
This week will likely fly by. Last week did and this weeks schedule doesn’t seem to be any lighter than last week. Let’s just hope that I’m healthy for it!
I believe that my husband is my biggest fan. And I love him for keeping me grounded when I can be my harshest critic.
I’m addicted to making lists. I need to consolidate lists right now. I have way too many! Ahh!
I wish for a happy + healthy week for all the pregnant ladies in my life right now {which is quite a few ladies!}.
I’m happy for rain. We desperately needed it and got quite a bit yesterday. Thank goodness!

You’re right about the rain we really needed it! Can’t wait to see photos from your wedding reception, I know how you feel about those details. I’ve been pretty stressed out recently about my wedding details as well, but I’m sure it will all fall into place!
