I haven’t been on Pinterest lately.
I haven’t been crafty.
I haven’t been baking.
I haven’t been cooking.
I haven’t been organizing nor have I been purging items from our closets.
I’ve wanted to do these things.
But they aren’t important.
These things aren’t what satisfy my appetite for living.
These things are distractions, honestly.
They distract me from what is truly meaningful.
They distract me from my family.
They distract me from my friends and my work.
They distract me from getting out and living life.
From exploring the outdoors.
From watching my baby learn and explore.
So excuse the dishes in the sink.
Excuse the clean laundry that needs folded and just happens to be seeking refuge in our living room.
Excuse the toys flung haphazardly throughout the hallway.
Cause we’re too busy living to really care.

sometimes it’s nice to not do those things, to totally disconnect and just enjoy being. and it’s lovely.
