Yesterday I was starved! I’m not blaming this on the detox. I’m blaming it on the fact that I had a peach, went to yoga at 9:15, and then, rather unexpectadly, I didn’t end up back home until 4:00PM. To be clear, a peach is not even enough to get me through my entire vinyasa practice, let alone a whole day. True story.
So then I ate pretty much an entire bag of baby carrots. Not enough. True story.
And then a fruit and ice smoothie. Still not enough. True story.
So then I gave in and had a glass of red wine and a lovely rugelach cookie. True story.
Did I fail? I like to think not. This detox isn’t about depriving myself of things, but just taking it easy on my mind and body while working through everything with a daily yoga practice.
Hope y’all are not too disappointed in me. But no worries as I am up already for my 7:30am yoga practice!
Namaste!

Heh, this sounds similar to my past attempts at cleansing. Sounds like overall you are still doing awesome! I'm a believer in the 80/20 rule. If you're eating well at least 80% of the time, you're on the right track.

I've never tried the cleansing thing, but after reading this post I immediately think of those times where I ate something small for breakfast, ended up running around and doing things just as you did, and then I end up snacking on things that just aren't enough to fill me up.
I guess, in a sense, all of that is exactly what you did. The difference? Once I get home, I raid the freakin' kitchen until I lay my head on a pillow. And then I wake up feeling sick the next morning.
Not that you cared to hear all of that. Haha. Sorry. Just trying to relate.

cleansing to me was going to the holistic store and spending 30 bucks on a kit that i took like 4 pills a day and drank water, and every morning i had a nice poo.
you know you care.
it seemed way easier than changing anything else, i did feel good for two weeks.

I think you're right about it being about figuring out what's best for your mind and body, and not necessarily being so strict. I've had women come into the ER because they took the detox thing too far, so be careful! I'm sorry if that sounds mother-hen-ish of me, but I can't help it!

LMAO I LOVE the title of this post b/c it is SO something I would say. Can't wait until we can meet in person and “detox” together! 😉

Your a better woman than me…my chunky behond would have had a cookie even before yoga! 🙂
