I’m kind of in shock that I’m pretty much a mom of a 6-month old.
And ya know what? If the last [nearly] six months have given me anything, it’s perspective.
I’m OK. I’ve come to terms with the labor and delivery; I’ve come to terms with the fact that my baby was extremely colicky for the first 3 months of his life; and I’ve come to terms with the fact that my first couple of months postpartum were spent in a sad haze.
But he. is. incredible!
He is smiley and happy and his giggles light up my heart and the room!
But is he a boy!! Holy smokes!
I’ve never had a daughter before, but I can already tell that having a boy is just different. He is rough and tough and doesn’t give a you-know-what!
He’s constantly grabbing at my lips/cheeks/eyes/hair and whatever else. And he thinks it’s just hilarious!
And sometimes it is. But I can’t help but wonder if this is some serious foreshadowing of what’s to come. I see lots of mud + dirt and scrapes + bruises.
Well bring it on, Babycakes!
This girl never thought she would be a boy mom, but I couldn’t be happier.
Oh yes, boys are definitely rough-and-tumble… and it only gets more so as they get older!
