Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipe

December 26, 2021 by Rachel 11 Comments

I spent 3 years of my undergrad in Buffalo, New York. And Buffalo is THE HOME of the chicken wing. It’s true! And, having travelled all over, I can tell you that a TRUE chicken wing from Buffalo is the most legit chicken wing you will ever eat. So you could say I’m really, really, picky about my chicken wings. I grew tired of trying to find the best local restaurant for chicken wings. But I really like that crispy outside layer that I’ve grown accustomed to. And with this Air Fryer Chicken Wings recipe is all of that — and more!

Air Fryer Chicken Wings

What You’ll Need

This recipe is simple, which you know I like. My one (well, two!) recommendations would be the following:

Number one — use bone-in chicken wings. Chicken strips or tenders just do NOT have the same result. Number two — make sure you’re using a really good air fryer. My preference is between this one and this one.

Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Here’s what else you’ll need:

  • chicken wings, bone in (four pounds is the perfect amount)
  • Cavender’s Greek seasoning
  • olive oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Worcestershire sauce (2 tablespoons)
  • white vinegar (1 tablespoon)
  • 1/2 -1 cup of Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce (or other barbeque sauce of choice)

  • 2 Tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 Tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon of white vinegar
  • 1/2 -1 cup of Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce

Instructions

INGREDIENTS -

STEP 1 -

In a mixing bowl, add the Cavender’s, oil, vinegar, and Worcestershire. Mix well.

STEP 2 -

Place wings in the bowl and coat well. Cover with plastic wrap.

STEP 3 -

Place wings in the fridge for 3-8 hours, the longer the marinade, the more tender the wing.

STEP 4 -

Place the wings in the air fryer basket, leave room between wings. Cook on 400 for 10-12 minutes.

STEP 5 -

Coat wings in BBQ sauce and cook on 350 for 5 minutes.

STEP 6 -

Let cool and ENJOY!

My suggestion would be to have chunky bleu cheese for dipping. Skip the ranch — the real deal is bleu cheese. And it’s worth the indulgence.

What’s your favorite type of chicken wing — Mild, Medium, Hot, BBQ, Garlic, or Teriyaki?!

Air Fryer Mac and Cheese Bites

October 20, 2021 by Rachel 6 Comments

Confession: I despise leftovers. It’s true. If we have traditional leftovers, nine times out of 10, I won’t eat them. And that’s a real problem. Especially when on a budget and concerned with food waste. But by changing those leftovers into something else? THAT is totally different. One of our food staples around here is mac and cheese. And what better way to use your leftover mac and cheese than by making these delicious Air Fryer Mac and Cheese Bites!

Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Green Bean Fries

August 28, 2021 by Rachel 5 Comments

I am always looking for creative ways to get my kids to eat their vegetables. Honestly, Ari will eat anything we put in front of him. But the girls are a different story. While Remy will eat plain old brocoli (which is weird, right?), she won’t touch other vegetables. Like, at all. My air fryer helps me pull out all the stunts (and get the kids to eat!) with this garlic parmesan green bean fries recipe.

Garlic Parmesan Green Bean Fries

What you’ll need to make Garlic Parmesan Green Bean Fries

As mentioned before, this recipe is super simple. But the one item you’ll want to be sure you have for this is an air fryer. My favorite can be found here. I truly don’t recommend baking these instead of air frying. They just won’t be as crisp as they should be.

The other ingredients you’ll need are the following:

  • a pound of fresh green beans
  • flour
  • shredded parmesan
  • minced garlic
  • pepper
  • salt
  • and eggs

That’s it! The dredging and coating are really straight forward. Just be sure you grease the air fryer basket with your favorite cooking spray before placing the green beans in.

Additionally, be sure to serve it with your favorite dipping sauce. I really like a spicy aioli, but my kids prefer ketchup (because, of course).

The full details

Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Green Bean Fries

Garlic Parmesan Green Bean Fries
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 12 minutes
Total Time 22 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs of fresh green beans
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup of shredded parmesan
  • 2 tablespoons of minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

INGREDIENTS -

STEP 1 -

Trim the tips off the green beans and wash them.

STEP 2 -

In a bowl, whisk the eggs until beaten, add the garlic. Place the green beans in and let them soak while you prepare the flour mixture.

STEP 3 -

In a gallon storage bag, add the flour, salt and pepper, and parmesan.

STEP 4 -

Add some green beans from the egg wash and place them in the bag. Shake vigorously to coat the green beans evenly.

STEP 5 -

Place green beans in the air fryer basket and spray with oil. Gently shuffle them to coat them all. Don’t over stuff the beans but they can be on top of each other.

STEP 6 -

Cook on 370 for 12 minutes out until golden brown.

STEP 7 -

Enjoy with any sauce you like, or by itself!

Air Fryer Foil Pack Italian Chicken Recipe

August 15, 2021 by Rachel 5 Comments

We are t-minus one week from the start of another school year. It’s honestly hard to believe. And, with the new school year in sight, I’m trying my best to come up with new, quick and easy recipes for busy weeknights. One of our favorite new recipes in our dinner rotation is this weeknight air fryer foil pack Italian chicken recipe!

Air Fryer Foil Pack Italian Chicken

What you’ll need for this recipe

Because this is a weeknight recipe, it’s short on two things: ingredients and time!

  • Chicken Breasts (one pound, cubed)
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Your choice of frozen vegetables
  • Cooking Spray
  • Foil
  • a few pinches of salt
  • and your air fryer! (PS. If you don’t have one, this is the one I use!)

That’s all! If you’re looking for other quick recipes, check this out here!

Air Fryer Foil Pack Italian Chicken

Why cooking on a weeknight is important

The one constant in my life growing up was dinnertime. For four out of 5 weeknights, my mom made a home cooked meal. Every night, when we would sit down for dinner, we would connect, chat, and enjoy our food. I’d like to think that I am striving to do the same; but, in reality, I’m struggling.

That connection over mealtime is so important for every family. So what makes it easier? Easy weeknight meals. Take the guesswork out of dinner and spend time where it really matters — connecting with your family!

How to make Air Fryer Foil Pack Italian Chicken
