Surviving Multiples // On The Move

Fact: Babies grow up. Fast. Like, really fast. Before they’re born, you wonder how they will look, act, etc. And after they are born you can’t imagine having never held them before. And shortly thereafter you realize that soon they will be mobile. Like, very mobile.

Remy may be tiny, but girlfriend is already rolling to her belly. And before I know it, she’ll be crawling.

So trust me… we are thinking about how we are going to survive with TWO mobile children!

Over the weekend I snapped a video of Ari and Remy lying in our bed. She was chatting (aka making lots of loud baby noise) and Ari was just ooh-ing and ahh-ing over her. As soon as the video was over, I turned around to grab something.

… and Remy rolled over. < !!!!!!!!!! >

I just can’t. My baby!?

I was totally excited! I snapped a quick pic to send to Chad (just before she had an epic meltdown, because, OMG, I’m on my belly and don’t know what to do!)… and then it hit me. HOW am I going to handle TWO kiddos on the move!? Just… HOW!?

So I put together a survival guide for dealing with MULTIPLE mobile kiddos!

  1. Baby Proof. I’m not talking bubblewrap your house. But, by all means, cover those sharp corners, use outlet covers, and make sure you’re not leaving the clorox within reach! Seriously. Just pick up the small objects and you’re good.
  2. Baby Gates. Oh my word. Who would have guessed that baby gates would be one of the most sought after baby shower gifts? My sister bought me my first baby gate and she thought it was the worlds most boring gift. Now she’s pregnant. And she is DYING for a baby gate! Ha! PS. Make sure you get the swinging arm gates. They are easy to navigate while holding one (or two!) babies. And they swing shut on their own!
  3. Wide Open Spaces. I’m not talking the Dixie Chicks. I’m talking about giving them space to roll, roam, and tumble! Give them plenty of room to grow on their own time. Like I said, Remy wasn’t mobile and then, well, she was. So be prepared to just let them go at their own pace.

  1. Protection. The last thing you want to deal with when your baby is crawling is to have them lose some… fluid… in the process. 😛 So to avoid that, we use Huggies® Little Movers. They have a stretchy SnugFit Waistband to help them stay in place like no other diaper. The unique contoured shape provides a comfortable fit and stays in place as babies move and play! Babies don’t stay in place, so diapers that do?? That’s a parenting win, fo’ sho’! They now include an improved LEAK LOCK® to provide protection and security in between diaper changes. That means no worrying and a dry baby bum!

We buy our Huggies from Sam’s Club and we save $3 instantly with the purchase of the Little Mover Diapers! Bonus? Just by using these diapers you can enter to win a $500 Sam’s Club gift card by submitting a photo of your baby’s moves! [ Too bad Remy won’t show off her rolling for the camera! ]

Well, here we go, world! Two Little Movers! Eeeeeek! Wish me luck!! 🙂 ♥ ♥
