Soothing a Colicky Baby

All moms of newborns understand that their babies are going to cry. They cry when they’re hungry, tired, and have a dirty diaper, the waterworks are on. We understand that it’s really the only way they have to express how they feel.

But no one can prepare you for those other moments — the moments (and hours upon hours) when your baby screams and cries for no particular reason whatsoever. It’s an awful feeling when you take your daughter to the pediatrician, convinced there is something seriously wrong with her, just to find out it’s colic.

Colic is when a healthy baby cries for more than 3 hours a day, at least 3 days a week, for over 3 weeks. It usually starts in the first few weeks of life and can last anywhere up to a year.

And you know I’ve been there. Not just with one kid. Nope. Both.

Remy’s colic lasted until she was 5 months old. The soul-crushing screams of a baby that could not be calmed down were downright unbearable most times. Chad would come home from work and I wouldn’t even hesitate at just handing her off.

We tried ‘special holds,’ dietary restrictions, driving her around, bouncing her, rocking her, patting her, gas drops, etc. Nothing was working. A friend of mine suggested that we try using GERBER® Soothe® probiotic Colic Drops.

Gerber® Soothe Probiotics Colic Drops is formulated with comforting probiotics L. reuteri which is a probiotic that is safe for infants. It has been clinically shown to significantly reduce crying time in colicky babies. And it absolutely works. I know it did for us!

Now that Miss Bea is crying less, we’re all smiling more! And when our babies are happy, their mamas are happy. Am I right!?

But seriously. Colic is a nightmare. I’m so grateful to have foundGerber® Soothe probiotic colic drops… and also for a husband that didn’t mind me handing off Miss Bea as soon as he walked through the door!

I received a free sample of Gerber® Soothe probiotic colic drops from Gerber®. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’m so excited to know these drops exist! We didn’t experience colic with out first (and hopefully won’t with the next one!) but we do have many friends who dealt with it, as well as other kids at our daughter’s daycare. I’ll definitely be sure to recommend these. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve never seen the colic drops. I got lucky with a calm baby but will definitely suggest to friends!

I had no idea that gerber made colic drops! I used another brand when my two toddlers were tiny, but next time around, i’ll check Gerber out!
