Saturday excitement!

Weekend Update:

– I volunteered to work this morning for a few hours. Before work I hit the gym this morning. By the time I got to work my boss had Brueggers coffee and a plain bagel for me (nothing on it, absolutely plain). Time passed quickly and I got paid OT. Not bad!

– I did laundry for the first time in my own washer and dryer! (It’s the little things that make me happy).

– I used Restaurant.com to get four $25 gift cards for a buck a piece!

– I recently was a winner from a giveaway of an order of SweetAmbs Cookies!
{My first ever mail at my new apartment!}
{I’m a sucker for desserts wrapped in ribbon}
{beautiful cookies}

This is a description from the SweetAmbs Cookies etsy store:
6 Orange Vanilla Spice Cookies decorated with “embroidered” royal icing flowers in pink on brown background. Each cookie measures about 3-1/2″ in diameter.
Sweetambs cookies are made from a basic sugar cookie recipe, which is then flavored with fresh orange zest, vanilla beans, and a hint of cardamom. The royal icing has a dash of vanilla extract to bring together the wonderful flavors of the cookie.
Each cookie is individually wrapped and heat sealed. They stay soft and taste fresh for up to four weeks when kept in their wrappers or stored in an air tight container. Your cookies will arrive packaged beautifully in a white box tied with a ribbon.
All of my cookies are done by hand so they may vary slightly from the ones pictured here, but I always make sure that each one is beautiful!

– And my mom and dad are on there way up from Ohio to visit me tonight! They won’t get here until around midnight, but I am so grateful to have them coming to see me. They are bringing some more of my stuff so I hope I can post some pictures soon.

    I LOVE restaurant.com. LB and I got to have a $45 lunch in South Beach yesterday for only $20 after we used the coupon. $20 including tax and tip, for two entrees and a salad, not bad at all!

    We should try making fall sugar cookies and decorating them for the boys (Josh & Chad) I am sure they won't look as amazing as those but we could make pumpkins/ other festive themes! Good weekend project?

    What a great way to kick off mail at your new address! I hope there are many many “happies” to follow! Everyone loves happies in the mail. =)

    And now I must go back to being jealous of your washer & dryer. I *hate* schlepping over to the laundry room. I also hate shelling out $1.25 per wash or dry. And sharing the machines with other people. =P I do like that I can get it all done at the same time but I would still rather have my own.
