Red + White on Thursday Night // Review

Thursday night was one of my favorite events of the year — the Arthritis Foundation of Northeast Ohio’s Annual Red + White on Thursday Night.

I was honored to be able to attend. As I’ve mentioned before (in fact — over and over again…) this is our most anticipated event of the year. Basically our Christmas Day is really the Red + White event. Chad and I are balls to the wall in foodie heaven. As expected, we hit up the VIP room right away. Based on last years experience I was expecting a full bar with specialty cocktails — but instead I was surprised by high-end wines and a dessert section to die for. For serious.

I bit into what I thought was a chocolate covered oreo… but it wasn’t. It was a chocolate covered oreo AND PEANUT BUTTER CUP!! Holy Jesus! As someone who isn’t a huge chocolate fan — and definitely not a peanut butter and chocolate fan — even *I* was excited about this combo. So excited, in fact, that I may have stuck one in my dress pocket (yes, a dress with pockets, obvy) to “steal” for home. PS. I will *always* blame Ari for taking sweets. But we all know they are for me. Because kids on sugar = nutso buttso!

After chatting with one of my faves, Crystal from Eat*Drink*Cleveland, we all headed into the general admission room to check out the restaurants and wine vendors.

The food vendors included:

  • Bistro on Main
  • Chocolates by Erin
  • Cilantro Thai & Sushi
  • dba
  • Hudson’s Restaurant
  • Moe’s Restaurant
  • Nuevo Mod Mex
  • Saffron Patch in the Valley
  • The Lockview
  • The Pierogi Lady
  • The Taverne of Richfield
  • West  Side Bakery

Just to name a few! Lobster was on the menu at a couple of the restaurants — including a Lobster Grilled Cheese sandwich from the Lockview (pictured below). Chocolates by Erin always impresses; and this year did not disappoint. The chocolate covered grapes were, of course, to die for. But even better? The chocolate covered bacon. Like nearly whole pieces of bacon!! OMG.

Neither the food nor the atmosphere disappointed. After 3 consecutive years of attending this event, it was great to see so many familiar faces! So many people continue to support the foundation as well as the cause.

Sadly, the one thing I didn’t document on our big night out? A picture of Chad and me. Yep. Fail. Ha! Honestly we did spend a great night together; but there’s something to be said about not being reliant on someone else in social situations. We were both able to socialize with one anothers friends and meet up to chow and chat about food. THIS is what real love is made of, y’all!!

And now begins the countdown to the 19th annual red & white event in 2016! 🙂
