Date nights are super hard to come by these days (no surprise, I’m sure). And whenever Chad & I can get away we tend to hit up an early dinner (or happy hour) so that we can be home early in time for Moosh to be put to bed.
The other day we had our sitter come over so we could go to a late lunch/early dinner at P.F. Changs! I was super excited to have an adult-only date with Chad! Usually we’re trying to eat as quickly as possible before Moosh makes a scene! A change of pace (literally) was needed.
The new summer menu at P.F. Changs is full of fresh ingredients and seasonal produce! It was hard to pick just one entree from the new menu!
I ended up trying the Spicy Paloma (made with tequila and fresh jalapeño slices, balanced with freshly-squeezed white grapefruit juice) paired with Vietnamese Lemongrass Chicken Spring Rolls.
Chad was convinced that I wouldn’t be able to drink this because he could smell the intense jalapeno flavors as soon as the drink arrived at our table. But truthfully — it was the perfect combination of heat and sweet!
Especially with the light & fresh flavors of the spring rolls!
Apparently I was craving spicy flavors because for my entree I went with the Seared Ahi with Wasabi Guacamole. I very rarely have the opportunity to eat rare ahi, and have never had guacamole at an Asian restaurant, so it was an obvious choice. And I wasn’t disappointed. And I wasn’t overwhelmed by the heat of the guacamole with the heat of the drink.
Chad opted for the Orange Peel Shrimp. Shrimp is definitely not my thing. But I tried it, and the sauce was delicious. I told him it would be perfect if it was on chicken. Ha! Yep, I just don’t do shrimp.
Overall, we were impressed with the summer menu and the options.
In addition to the new menu, P.F. Changs is running a “Perfect Pairings” contest! From now until August 18, go to www.pfchangs.com/perfectpairings to enter to win a trip to Boston for an exclusive Samuel Adams Brewery Tour for two (winner and one guest), followed by a 4-course craft beer dinner at the P.F. Chang’s downtown Boston.
Thank you P.F. Chang’s for sponsoring today’s discussion and for the tasty date night!
