oh baby! 41 weeks

How far along? 41 weeks to the day. Oy. Even though I knew it was a serious possibility, I didn’t expect to be writing this post.

How big is the baby? He’s the size of a baby. ๐Ÿ™‚ Ha! What’s the point of calling him the size of a fruit when that’s no longer accurate.

Total weight gain? Still around 40 pounds.

Stretch marks? Over the last week, my stretch marks have expanded. There are faint ‘explosions’ of stretch marks surrounding my belly button. Somehow I made it 40 weeks without many and this kid is killing my body image in his last week.

Sleep: None. My sciatic nerve is killing me when I sleep on my side [which is the only way I can sleep]. So I start on my left side + after about 45 minutes, the pain intensifies and wakes me up. I roll over to my right side. And repeat.every.45.minutes!

Movement: Tons. And contractions!

Food cravings: Sugar! Serious sweet tooth these days.

Food aversions: Not much of anything these days. But I’m generally not very hungry either.

What I miss: Feeling human. This past week has been brutal. Brutal!

What I’m looking forward to: Baby L’s arrival!

Other notes: I have a 41-week OB appointment this morning. I’m not looking forward to it, actually. I was hoping that I wouldn’t be making it to this particular appointment, so it’s a bit discouraging. Also, I know that I’ll be hooked up to a nonstress test. And I know that at 41 weeks, Baby L is likely to be less active than in previous weeks. Which means the potential for a less than stellar test result.

Oh, reading this post brings back memories. I remember showing up for my 41 week MW appointment and feeling like crying because I WASN’T SUPPOSED TO BE THERE!!! I’m thinking of you, and you look great ๐Ÿ™‚

PS – I read some of the FB comments where people were asking whether or not you’d had your baby yet, and I wanted to reach through the internet and shake them! Don’t people know to never ask a pregnant woman that question?!

I just want to say that you look AMAZING!!!! I mean really, you are the cutest preggers girl of all time and your clothes are so adorable ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope that the baby decides to make his arrival soon, I thought I saw on Twitter that you were at the hospital and I keep creeping around to see if anything happened. I can’t wait to hear the birth story and see some pics!!!

[…] The acupuncturist worked his magic, I went home, and went about my business [like scheduling this 41 week blog post]. I went back for a second session of acupuncture in the afternoon and then came […]
