mom fail.

The other day after work I picked up Ari and ran to Target to pick up some first birthday party supplies (which I didn’t end up getting, but that’s besides the point). I ended up with a cart full-o-items I didn’t plan on purchasing.

I swung by the toy section and picked up a book for Babycakes. It kept him busy while I grabbed a few more items. And as I finished up my (completely unnecessary) shopping, the cashier started chatting me up. Obviously, we’re regulars. As I checked out, the cashier was trying to make Ari smile, laugh and clap!

I was so distracted that I didn’t even notice that we didn’t pay for the book! That is, until we got to our car. I felt like an idiot. I was too embarrassed to go back into the store to pay for it.

So yeah, I accidentally five-finger-discounted a $5 children’s book! Ugh! Haha! Major mom-fail! Please tell me I’m not the only mom to have done this before?

Hahahaha. That’s hilarious! I did that once with something that Colin was carrying – it was just a pop or something, nothing big, but I still felt super guilty!

When I was a young young nanny, pushing 4 kids through Hobby Lobby, we “accidentally” stole some craft stuff!! I was MORTIFIED! I’m pretty sure I screamed my head off at the little boys. I think I may have forced them to return the items to the manager.
