little bits of happiness.

I read in a magazine once that playing the lottery once in a while {we’re not talking every day here, folks, or even once a week} increases an individuals happiness. I’m guessing it has something to do with being filled with hope and anticipation, even if for just a fleeting moment.
So when I saw that yesterdays Mega Millions was at $355 million, I thought, why not? I bought four tickets!
It makes you think how much even a fraction of that money would change your life.
Let’s say just $1 million of it.
What would you do with $1 million?
– I would pay off all of my debt.
– I would pay off the little bit of debt that my parents have.
– I would take a series of nice vacations with BF. Perhaps Hawaii and Europe?
– I would pay off a couple of other big ticket items for other people.

– And then I would put the rest into savings and continue working!

So what would YOU do?

Yeah, I bought 3 tix and had a teensy bit of hope yesterday too…but now I'm coping with the depressing reality that I didn't even win a stinking $1. Damn!

Great list of “to do” though if you won…I'd do a lot of the similar, except for CONTINUE WORKING…so would NOT do that…at least not until E is in school full time anyway.

Hire a lawyer and try as much as possible to keep it a secret.

I got a 1400 bonus last year at work, and a family member who will remain nameless but has a gambling problem, got pissed that i wouldnt pay her mortgage that she was behind on and was losing her house.

uh. yea. so, a million? itd be my little secret!

I have *never* purchased a lottery ticket. I've received a few in various cards over the years but I've never actually bought one for myself. (We don't have Mega Millions here anyway, so it's a moot point this time, regardless.)

With a million dollars? I would wipe out what remains of our debt, put us in a house we love but isn't “too much,” I would invest in my brother & sister-in-law's business to get it off the ground, and then the rest would go into savings, part of which would be wisely invested, and I would do my best to keep life as normal as it is right now.

    hmmm.. great question!!!
-I would pay off my husband's med. school loans
-I would buy my husband a new car, since his is a zillion years old
-Husband and I would go on a vacation to Europe-one of my dreams in life:)
-I would go on a shopping spree and get a new wardrobe
-The rest would go in our savings for our first house!!!

    One can dream, right?

I'd do every thing that you listed! I would add a couple of different locations to the traveling (Argentina being a big one) but other than that, I'd probably spend it the exact same way. Maybe I'd buy a Kindle too. 🙂

I found you from Pumpkin Delight. I love your site. I’m going to poke around a little bit, but don’t worry I’ll put everything back where I found it!!
