Grape Falls + Craft Brews

When I started my job at the Akron YMCA nearly 4 years ago, I was unaware of how much it would change me. I’ve always had a heart for my community, but I was never quite sure how to channel that energy into real change. To my surprise and excitement, I found a way to make a difference with the Riverfront YMCA.

In fact, my absolute favorite part of being involved with the YMCA is the outpouring of love, support, and funding for (and from) the local community through programs like our annual campaign.

Did you know that the YMCA offers income-based scholarships for any family, adult, or senior that wishes to participate in their programs? That’s right — you will not be turned away, regardless of your ability to pay the fee in question.

The biggest fundraiser that our Riverfront Family YMCA branch hosts each year to support this cause is Grape Falls + Craft Brews.

Grape Falls + Craft Brews is an evening out featuring an array of local craft beer sampling, signature wine tastings, and heavy hors d’oeuvres!

Local craft brewers HiHo Brewing Co, MADCAP, R.Shea Brewing, and Great Lakes Brewing Company will all be in attendance with their rockstar lineups of hops and lagers!

A wide array of wine will be available from Cellar 59 Wine Bar, The Wine Mill, Dante Boccuzzi Akron, Red Head Wine, and Craft Beer Bar. Small bites, courtesy of Moe’s on Front Street, will be plentiful (and delicious!). Local favorite — and soon to be Front Street resident! — Akron Coffee Roaster’s will be providing fresh roasted coffee for all attendees.

There is a silent auction, raffles, and a wine pull (for the ‘gambling’ type!). But even if you choose not to participate in these particular activities, there is still a lot of fun to be had — and dancing!

Here’s what you need to know —

When: Saturday, September 14th, 2019 at 6:00 PM

Where: Falls Church Square, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio

Why: All ticket sales, donations, and raffle proceeds go directly back into our community. These funds are used for proramming scholarships and to fulfill the YMCA’s mission of not turning people away for inability to afford our programs.

Ticket Cost: $50 per person. Includes unlimited tastings and pours from all of the aforementioned businesses. Tickets can be purchased here or by visiting the branch.

These ideals of nurturing families and giving back to the community are just one of the many reasons to come out and support the Riverfront YMCA at this years Grape Falls and Craft Brews! It’s sure to be an amazing time!

This is my kind of event. Helping the community and drinking great wine. I’ve actually always been a fan of the YMCA, so this quite amazing. Sounds like you had a great time 🙂
