Oh hey, world! I wish I could say that I have had the healthiest lifestyle ever for the last three weeks. Buuuuuut that just hasn’t happened.
Weight Watchers, Food + Workouts //
It turns out that planning for the big #BabyAriTurns1 bash was exhausting on me. Well, that and a couple of stressful weeks at work is what did it. The Sunday after his party it all came crashing down, and I caved to the sickness.
I’m sure it didn’t help that I wasn’t tracking my points. And didn’t have time (or energy) during those crazy two weeks to get in a good workout.
I mean, I know that people say “I don’t have time to work out” all the time. But the thing is, I am awesome at fitting in workouts. Like, awesome at it (hello?? Lunch break workouts for the win??!!). But that week before Ari’s party was no bueno. And I recognized that.
Then this sickness. The sickness that I like to call a cold, but it’s possible it’s been the flu. I still got in one lonely little workout. I was trying to get a lot of sleep that week in an effort to recover and get healthy.
So, needless to say last time I was all “holler at a weight loss!” and this time? Well, this time, carbs + sleep + no workouts were my friend in health + wellness. But that also means, a 2 pound weight gain.
Fast forward to the last 7 days of my life… and I’m back on track! I’ve been tracking my points, eating (mostly) healthy foods, and getting in as many workouts as I can. Thank goodness for the Weight Watchers app! Without it, I would never track a thing.
And there’s something about tracking my activities in the app, too. I love seeing my point allowance go up from my workouts. It gives me extra motivation to get out and run!
Looking ahead //
Speaking of running, I’m having so much fun with it still! But I am trying to figure out how I can keep this momentum through the snowy winter months. I’m already registered for my first ever 10k race in December (it’s the Christmas Story 10k — how fun is that?!), but I’m mostly concerned about keeping up with training as the weather gets crappier.
I do not like to run on treadmills. I just cannot do it. I’d rather run in the ice and snow.
What are your tips/suggestions for staying motivated and fitting in winter outdoor runs??
great job! as long as you keep with it, you are winning!! I’m doing the Christmas story run as well, I am so excited, it is going to be so much fun!!!!
