There are SO many fun events going on in the Cleveland/Akron area. Sometimes it’s hard to keep track of all of them! But it’s my mission to explore my community and introduce Ari to as many fun local attractions as possible!

Kiss My Akron // Anywhere in Akron // Ongoing through February 2014 // FREE

kiss my akron

You can do this nearly anywhere! Grab a ‘kiss’ window-cling and smack a smooch on someone while you take a picture! Upload the photo with the hashtag #kissmyakron while you explore the city that you love!

Big Love Festival // Musica // February 22nd @ Noon // FREE

big Love

A family-friendly celebration of art, food, and community. There will be live music, live art, food, poetry, meditation, kids’ arts & crafts, and yoga!

Brite Winter 2014 // Ohio City // February 15th @ 4pm – 11pm // FREE

brite winter 2014

A free music festival all over Ohio City! There will be stages set up indoor and outdoors all over Ohio City. In addition to the music lineup, there will be art, lights, games, and food vendors & trucks!

Home and Garden Show // IX Center // Currently – 16th of February // $11

great big home garden

We’ve been going to this event for years now. If you go on a weekend, it will for sure be crazy packed. But there is SO much to see! The garden exhibitions are great to look at (and take pictures of!). Better even still are the fun home good items (that few people will be able to actually afford! Ha!).

Great Lakes Science Center // February 22nd // FREE

GLSC

The Cleveland Foundation is generously supporting a free admission day on February 22nd! Not only is general admission included, but the IMAX movies are as well. I’m certain it will be a crowded and busy day, but we plan on getting there early in the day and taking it all in!

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame // February 23rd // FREE

rock hall

The Cleveland Foundation has supported a free admission day for the Rock Hall the very next day after the Science Center day! So basically two days in a row that all you have to do is show up and pay for parking! Take advantage of this, friends! It doesn’t happen often!

Great Lakes Theater Outreach Touring Production  // Various Northeast Ohio Locations // February 11th – March 5th // FREE

Each season the Great Lakes Theater brings the classics directly into the community! This year it’s the classical production of Seven Ages. The company will be touring locations all over the region and are welcoming everyone to see it at no cost.

I am certainly going to check out the Cuyahoga Falls production on the 5th of March!

Yoga Bliss Akron Bliss Day // Akron // February 23rd // FREE

comp_8a1

Yoga Bliss Akron has renovated their location and it has doubled in size! The new location has larger studios plus a juice bar! This city (and area in general) needs something like this. For years I have compared every studio to Breathe in Rochester. They have a great thing going on, and it’s good to see a local studio (and my ‘home’ studio!) following in their footsteps!

In addition to the renovations, Yoga Bliss is hosting it’s annual Bliss Day on February 23rd! All classes are free, so you’re encouraged to sign up via their website to reserve your spot!

We have not been up that way since we went to a wedding up there 6 years ago. I thought it was so pretty! We really should plan a trip up that way with the kids. Sounds like lots to try!
