did that just happen?

I’m not exactly the poster child for cooking meals from scratch. Well, truthfully, I’m not the poster child for cooking anything. Period. In fact, my idea of “making dinner” is picking up takeout from one place or another.

So I thought I was being punked yesterday as a fellow shopper in our local supermarket asked me {yes, me} a question about cooking.

The fact that she asked me {shock!} combined with the question itself, literally made me chuckle out loud.

Her question? “How do you cook those?”

To what was she referring?

Green beans.

True story.

After I realized she was serious, I hesitated and said “I steam them usually.”

And she asked, “So do you break of the ends?”

“Yes.”

“And break them in half?”

“No.”

And that was that.

And I’m still in shock. Did a 40-something year old woman just ask me how to make… green beans?!?

I still feel like she could not have been serious.

Ha! I bet you felt so proud! I am still amazed I can make broccoli and that I actually eat it. Good work my friend.

lol that is so random! I've had some lady look into my cart while I was in line at the store and tell me how she likes to snoop in peoples carts! But no one has ever asked me how to cook something!

That is a little shocking..then again, my mom probably feels the same way with some of the questions I call her with.

I can actually cook pretty well, but to be honest, I can't make a baked potato unless there's a microwave preset.

That gave me serious issues when I moved to my apartment and there was no baked potato button.

I guess everyone has issue with something right?
