Life has been hella crazy lately. I’d like to say we’ve been busy travelling the globe, but that would be semi inaccurate. I mean, we have been travelling the midwest rather thoroughly. ๐ ๐ And one of the great things about living in the Midwest is that we can travel a few hours and be transported to a completely different type of living.
See, my parents moved to Louisville, Kentucky from Cleveland, Ohio, when I was just a few months pregnant with Ari. So they’ve been away for about 5 years now. They love it, we love to visit, but we wish they were closer. FOR SURE.
We’ve been able to visit and sightsee many times in Louisville, but here’s a list of my favorite places to visit.
Queen of Sheba – Ethiopian Restaurant. This may seem random. Actually, it is. But I swear to you this is some of the most authentic cuisine I have ever had. Chad and I are one-hundred percent foodies — through and through. And this place? This place is off-the-grid and amazing. No silverware, questionable seating, but totally authentic.
Royals Chicken. Nashville hot chicken is one of my most favorite things to eat, period. So it should come as no surprise that Chad and I found the most awesome Nashville hot chicken (aka – very spicy fried chicken). We’ve been to this place several times on our visits and it seriously doesn’t get any better! We always go for lunch, but if I had gone for dinner I would have gotten a bourbon slushie! ๐

We drove by the Louisville Slugger factory recently and I was dying to stop. Looks like we will have to venture back to KY soon!!

Looks like fun trip! Making note of that donut place for when we eventually take a trip to Louisville like I’ve been wanting to do for a while. Donuts are our go-to for special breakfasts, and taking a trip counts as special ๐

This looks like a great place to visit! Whenever I pick a place to visit, looking at the food options there is always the first thing I do. So with all the great food options in Louisville, I will have to add to my list of places to visit.

I’ve always wondered what I could possibly do if I visited Kentucky. I’ll definitely be using this to check some places out! And those food pics are making me hungry!

What a fun trip! We recently went to Lexington and drove home through Louisville but didn’t have time to stop! I have attended a wedding reception at Louisville Slugger field, but I totally want to go back to explore and definitely stop at that distillery!

we would be in louisville every weekend!
my husband was stationed at ft knox which is about 45 mins away. i loved louisville — it was a perfect mix of southern and urban living. nords bakery was the beeeeest! if you’re there make sure to find a steel city pop AND to go to the 21c museum hotel…. so cool!
