crossing my fingers…

I’m not trying to be a scrooge this holiday season. Sometimes it just happens.

This year is different. I have to travel back to Ohio on Christmas Eve this year. This could be a huge problem if the weather conditions are right (or wrong, depending on which way you look at it). If the weather is bad, I fear I will have to spend Christmas alone — something I have never done.

Many people have said, “you can spend Christmas with my family if that happens,” and, no offense, but I really only want to spend Christmas with my family. Thanks for your offers, but I really need to just be with family for the holidays (and by family, I mean BF–he is my family).

I know that worrying about the weather over a week in advance is not going to do me any good, but the thought of being stranded on Christmas Eve is overwhelming. And I am doing my best to arrange to get out of work early on Christmas Eve (which would put me back in Ohio around 6pm instead of midnight).

So if y’all wouldn’t mind, could you send me some positive vibes over the next week? And cross your fingers for good weather? I would appreciate it immensely!

Oh, I completely understand. Christmas is a holiday I like to go home and spend with the family. It just wouldn't be the same any other way. I'll put in a call with Mother Nature, make sure she doesn't wreck havoc until Christmas Day…because a white Christmas would be lovely

I'm hoping the weather is in your favor on Christmas Eve!

I would be a wreck if I had to spend Christmas by myself or with somebody else's family. To me, it's not Christmas unless I'm with those who mean the most to me.

Do you have a layover or are you flying direct?

I hope it all works out for you! I will be driving to PA (let's hope not in snow) the day before Xmas Eve.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, and I'll be stalking the weather with you. I'm having the same fear about getting to the airport 2 hours away if we have snow.
