{ my week in review }

September 17, 2012 by Rachel 4 Comments

Busy, busy, busy!
That’s what life has been lately.
Not exactly exciting, just busy.

a look back at my week:

  • had the first of my weekly OB appointments
  • saw a chiropractor {for the first time} to realign my hips
  • worked quite a bit of overtime {have to work before baby comes!}
  • watched a couple of movies at home and snuggled with Chad
  • continued post-pregnancy planning, including meal-planning
  • visited with a friend and her brand new baby girl
  • had a potluck lunch at work that turned into a surprise baby shower for Baby Boy
  • planned a 2nd trip to visit the hospital where we’ll deliver
  • packed my bags for the hospital and installed the car seat
  • ate yummy food off of  a food truck

  • walked around the Haymaker Farmers Marketin Kent and bought a few fresh goodies
  • walked around an apple orchardon my date day with the husband
  • ate a fresh, warm, apple dumpling
  • picked up our Fresh Fork Market CSA share
  • snacked on the greatest hummus of all time for the better part of 3 days

My week was everything I hoped it would be. <3
Can’t wait for a repeat this week.

my week{s} in review.

The last two weeks have been nothing short of crazy.
But I’ve been getting so much done and it feels damn good!

here’s a look back at the last 2-weeks:

  • found some peace on my yoga mat at Yoga Bliss.

  • worked many many long hours.
  • felt very grateful after our amazing baby shower.

  • picked up our CSA share from Fresh Fork.

  • put a serious dent in the remaining items from our baby registry.
  • started washing all of baby boys clothes and sheets.
  • celebrated our 10-year high school reunion with great friends
    at Debonne Winery in Madison, Ohio.

  • ate a delicious meal at the Chowder House Cafe
    {top: pizza, bottom: bbq pork tacos}

  • enjoyed a little pedi pampering from my mother
    {since I can’t reach my toes!}
  • had my 34 week OB appointment.
  • bought new tires for my car
    {a bit early, thanks to a giant hole in my tire/rim}
  • got my haircut for the first time in 11 months
    {and a little ombre color, too!}

I’m sure this week is going to bring just as much craziness! 🙂 Can’t wait!

{ weekly mantra } + my week in review

August 20, 2012 by Rachel 5 Comments

What happens when you have ever intention of blogging on a Sunday night? Life. Life happens. And what exactly does life throw your way? Nausea and vomiting. That’s what.

To be fair, I totally, totally, totally, brought it on myself. I may or may not have thought I was a competitive eater for the first time in my entire life. I mean, I ate like I would never see food again, last night. No joke. I was just so hungry. I couldn’t believe it! Well, that is until I got myself out of a hot bath last night and realized that my body was not happy that I was prepping it for a Man. vs. Food competition. Ugh.

As someone with a legit phobia of vomit, I have to say, for the first time in my life — I felt better afterward!

PS. Didn’t expect to hear the V-word a hundred times on a Monday morning? Woops! Sorry about that.

 looking back at my week:

  • Put in another week of 10-hour work days.
  • took another relaxing Lush Bath Bomb bath — complete with an eBook and a glass of {fake} wine.

  • purchased 2 additional nursery items, courtesy of etsy.

  • made only one trip to Home Depot.
  • went to dinner with Chad, both of my parents, and my 2 aunts at The Rail.
  • put together Baby Boy’s dresser — and started to put clothes away!

  • finished up our mini-kitchen renovation project – next up – a fresh coat of paint!
  • went to our 32-week OB checkup appointment and presented our birth plan.

This week I’m going to be uber productive! I’m totally feeling the need to nest. Big time!

I believe I will never get another good night of sleep for the rest of this pregnancy. And I’m starting to accept it for what it is.

I’m addicted to my to-do list. And I just keep adding and adding to it.

I wish that my hopes + dreams to be productive this week become a reality! I was kind of in a

I’m happy to have a husband that puts up with my nonsense 🙂 He’s so great!

my week in review

August 12, 2012 by Rachel 4 Comments

my week in a nutshell:

  • worked 10-hour + work days every day.
  • took a Lush Bath Bomb bath to relax and unwind from the week.

  • worked on the nursery a teeny bit more.
  • made 4 trips to Home Depot for home improvement supplies.
  • spent some time with my dad who came up from Kentucky to visit/help us on home improvements.
  • purchased a few chevron printed items from etsy.

  • went out to my favorite little Mexican spot for dinner Saturday night.
  • finished organizing my recipes.
  • brainstormed ideas to keep organized post-pregnancy.

  • ‘graduated’ from our Bradley Method birth classes.
  • visited friends on the west side of cleveland for a day of
    fantasy football {for Chad} and soaking up baby/toddler time for me.

  • supervised kitchen renovations.
  • opened our first {two!} shower gifts from guests who won’t be able to attend.

I didn’t get everything {or much of anything, really} knocked off my to-do list,
but there’s always this week! 🙂

My week in review:

  • Started a new book – Jenny McCarthy’s
    Baby Laughs: The Naked Truth About The First Year of Mommyhood!
  • Had our 30 week OB checkup appointment
  • took one yoga class with the amazing and incredible Gretchen
  • picked up my finished pottery creation for Baby L
  • and also picked up our yummy + healthy CSA share filled with kale, lettuce, and nitrate-free bacon!
    {OK, maybe “healthy” was a stretch with that last item ;)}
  • printed and began organizing recipes
  • worked 8 hours of OT trying to get a step-up on this upcoming crazy work week
  • supervised the painting of Baby L’s nursery. Many thanks to my mom + Chad for their hard work!
  • bought Baby L’s changing table/dresser
  • finished up week 11 of our Bradley Method natural childbirth classes
    {which I realized I’ve been meaning to talk about, but haven’t gotten around to actually doing}
  • took my wedding ring off — which was emotionally difficult.
    But soon my fingers will swell past the point to where I can wear them comfortably.
  • Brought a little color into my work space.
  • read blogs and felt inspired by so many of them
  • started and finished a couple of craft projects
  • enjoyed a few bites of Mitchell’s Ice Cream, Great Lakes Brewing Company Christmas Ale + Ginger Snap Ice Cream
    {hooray for finding this little surprise leftover in our freezer from January!}
  • took a special little puppy on special morning walks alone

    An incredibly satisfying week! 🙂
