true story

true story tuesday.

November 24, 2009 by Rachel 17 Comments

I did a LOT of preparing for Thanksgiving this weekend. I cleaned, did laundry, and got some of my meals together and put them in the freezer. This is the most domestic I have ever been. EVER.

True story.

I met up with Emily on Sunday. Hanging out with her always cheers me up! There’s a reason she is my heterosexual life partner.

True story.

I was a bit emotional Sunday night/Monday morning. It bothered me. I recognized it and tried to move past it, but it wouldn’t budge.

True story.

I was cheered up when I arrived home and realized that I wouldn’t have to deal with another Monday for a week.

True story.

Well, that and the fact that I came home to 4 boxes of goodies on my front porch (which included a new coffee maker, perfume and GPS that I won at work).

True story.

I also recieved a very special package from Valerie at Next to Heaven. I love these beautiful leaf earrings from her etsy shop.

True story.

I also received a box from Angela at the Preppy Polka Dot! I’ve been drinking out of a water glass for far too long looking for a beautiful new wine glass!

True story.

There are few things better than free pie from a local bakery that my work hands out every year. This year I chose pumpking and it was delivered to me at work this morning.

True story.

I only have today and tomorrow to get through. Then BF will be here for our first Thanksgiving alone-no family, nothing-just me and him! I’m really excited.

true story tuesday.

November 17, 2009 by Rachel 16 Comments

Friday afternoon I went to a beginners yoga class (since I haven’t been to a class in three months) and I died was so sore all weekend from it.

True story.

After yoga I picked up some beautiful buckeye cupcakes with chocolate frosting from my favorite cupcakery. We ate them for breakfast on Saturday.

True story.

Saturday we spent hours (literally) walking around the food show. We barely spent any money (awesome), spent a lot of time with friends (also awesome) and ate free food all day (awesome… until the point where “full” turned into “about to explode” and I got crabby).

True story.

Even though BF was tired after the food show, he drove to the outlet mall so that I could get my very first pretty, pretty, expensive purse. I may or may not have spent the rest of the weekend staring at it and telling it how pretty it is.

True story.

Sunday we went to an early showing of 2012. It was a great movie, but a bit long (meaning I had to pee three times during the movie). I recommend it.

True story.

After the movie, I lost BF in Target. I found him wandering in the cereal aisle. Luckily he was searching for my favorite, Chucky Larms, so we could eat them for breakfast.

True story.

We went to Fakesgiving at my Aunts house on Sunday. There may have almost been a brawl thanks to someones (mine?) bright idea to play Cranium Men vs. Women.

True story.

Monday morning I did not want to get out of bed. I knew it was the last day I would be waking up next to him for a couple of weeks. But I dragged my butt out of bed, ate some Lucky Charms and went to go see A Christmas Carol in 3D. I will never forgive BF for making me see this. I was terrified. Terrified. Do not take your children to see this movie.

True story.

I am super worried about work for the rest of this week. It’s causing major anxiety right now. I had Friday off and Monday off, so I am terrified that when I go into work there is nothing that will help that craziness. Sigh.

true story tuesday :: mexican and fire trucks.

November 10, 2009 by Rachel 21 Comments

This weekend I did laundry for the first time in about two weeks (and I only had two loads!).

True story.

Every week I feel guilty taking the garbage out. I never have much garbage (I always have TONS of recycling), but the bag is always STINKY! So I take it out and feel guilty that there is a ton of room in the bag still.

True story.

This weekend I watched a LOT of Travel Channel… and I kept messaging BF “I want to go THERE on our moon!” (Yes, we call it a moon, and no we aren’t engaged yet).

True story.

I have a HUGE craving for Mexican food. HUGE. And zero dollars in the budget to allow me to purchase some tasty mexican-ness. Which makes me a very sad girly.

True story.

I am feeling really emotional. I cannot wait to see BF this weekend and I am praying that the rest of this work week flies by.

True story.

I have a yoga class left for Cleveland Yoga and I am going to use it this Friday while BF is at work. I’m very excited.

True story.

BF and I went to the Fabulous Food Show last year in Ohio at the IX Center & it was so much fun! I got discount tickets from my job, but this year they are $25 and we aren’t sure if there will be any discounts, so we may not go. I’m tres sad about this. We had so much fun last year and we both remember it like it was yesterday. Sigh.

True story.

And I was organizing takeout menus this weekend (don’t judge) and I saw a pizza menu (which remember, gluten = not good for me) that had Baked Potato Pizza (think sour cream, potatoes, onions, chives, cheddar cheese and bacon). Um, I drooled. Then BF told me I was gross.

True story.

I am up posting this at 1:30am not because I want to, but because when four fire trucks and 8 police cars surround your neighbors house in the middle of the night, it tends to wake you up.

True story.

And for all of you, share your true story Tuesdays in your blog and then post a link to them in my comment of this post! 🙂 Sounds like fun, right? 🙂

true story tuesday.

November 3, 2009 by Rachel 21 Comments

This morning on my way home from the gym, I had to dodge a bunch of balloons that were floating directly on the road in my lane… I had flashbacks of watching the movie IT. And I then I was terrified.

True story.

Yesterday was not nearly as painful a work day as I imagined it would be. It was long as heck, but I survived.

True story.

After the gym this morning I was feeling extremely sick to my stomach. I got home, took a shower, and then I threw up (which is extremely unusual for me). Now I feel better. This made me very happy… and then very worried.

True story.

I am going to support LawGirl and go on a shopping hiatus as well! Not only is it good for my budget, but I know what she’s going through and I sometimes it’s easier knowing there’s someone else doing the same thing!

True story.

I could not sleep a wink last night. I was tossing and turning and wide awake by pretty much 1:30am. I’m fairly certain this means I will be falling asleep at my desk around 2pm today.

True story.

I hate grocery shopping on a budget. I used to love going to the grocery store. Now it’s my least favorite ‘chore.’ Even doing dishes is better.

true story.

October 27, 2009 by Rachel 12 Comments

It’s Tuesday. Which is not Monday, and basically a Wednesday. And Thursday is my Friday this week, so we’re in pretty good shape!

True story.

And I have pink eye. Which is one of the least fun things that can happen to your eye (it’s 2nd to not having an eye at all).

True story.

I drive to Ohio to see BF and Thursday night and I’m really excited to see him. We are going to spend our weekend sleeping in and snuggling. It’s been a long three weeks and I don’t think we’ll be going three weeks again. It was way too long and drained me emotionally.

True story.

I’ve found myself being super stressed about money lately. Like, crazy stressed. And I don’t like it. I’m fine with living on a budget. I like it. But at some point I just want to scream, I’m so stressed.

That’s the long and short of my Tuesday’s truths.

True story…

…this past weekend I did nothing but relax, watch movies, grocery shop, winterize my apartment and go for a run. It was lovely.

…tonight I’m heading with a co-worker to the outlet stores an hour away. This is great because not only does it get me out of the house for a while but I get to go to Harry and David! For those who have never been to a Harry and David outlet, you are surely missing out! BF and I love that place! Especially the pears!
True story…

…tomorrow night I’ve got another Junior League of Syracuse recruit meeting. I hope there are more people there than last time.

True story…

…Thursday night I’m going with some friends to see Broken Lizard (the guys from Super Troopers) perform a live comedy act. Should be funny.

…it’s safe to say by Friday I will be EXHAUSTED from this weeks activities.

…and then it will only be a week til I go to Ohio to see BF. I’m oh so excited!

PS. Thank you all for all of your support in every way! I am so grateful to have blogger friends like you!
