The ONE Stocking Stuffer You NEED This Year. | PLUS A GIVEAWAY

November 22, 2017 by Rachel 13 Comments

As a busy mom I often find myself doing my self-care routine on-the-go. I mean that quite literally. I’ve been known to keep my makeup bag in my purse so that I can do my makeup in the car, usually in the parking lot before going into work.

I know, I know… Lame, right? I mean, my makeup routine is this:

  1. Liquid Foundation.
  2. Blush Stick.
  3. Eyeliner.
  4. Mascara.
  5. Eyebrows filled in with pencil.
  6. And maybe a quick lip color that will dissipate in .02 seconds.

That’s it. It takes me all of 5 minutes, while my kids are finishing their breakfasts in the backseat, before I unload them and myself and head into work. By the time I leave work a mere 4-ish hours later, I’ve sweated off half of the makeup from a combination of lifting and chasing three year olds around gymnastics.

So when I was offered to try out Lipsense (a long-lasting and waterproof lipstick) from fellow blogger — and Lipsense distributor — Beth, I jumped on board. Anything that further simplifies my already simple makeup routine is a win by me.

Well, I was blown away! There are so many colors and options AND it truly does NOT come off throughout the day! Yes, even after chasing around ten 3-year olds for three hours straight! 🙂 That’s a huge win! My favorite color thus far is Bella (pictured above), but I really want to try a bold red next!

And I’m totally gifting a starter set to all of my female relatives for Christmas this year! Who wouldn’t want a little fancy, no-nonsense, lipstick in their stocking, am I right?!

Want to try it out yourself? I’m hosting a giveaway for one Starter Set (Choice of color, Glossy Gloss, and Oops Remover) for one of my lucky readers! To enter, use the Rafflecopter widget below!

Disclosure: I received a Lipsense Starter Kit of my own in exchange for this giveaway. As always, all opinions herein are my own.

etsy pregnancy wish list

December 1, 2015 by Rachel 1 Comment

I am so excited winter is on it’s way! I know, I know… I’ve said that a lot recently. But even saying it ONCE, for me, is completely out of character! I told Chad that the sole reason I’m so excited this winter is knowing that I won’t have to drive in winter weather often [thanks, Baby Girl + maternity leave!]. But also because that means I can stay bundled up at home, complete with hot chocolate and Netflix, on the couch. Oh, no… I know it won’t be a vacation. I realize that I’ll also be responsible for keeping TWO children alive. But still. In those moments when Moosh is asleep and I’m nursing a baby, I’m going to enjoy that Netflix and hot cocoa!

I’ve also comprised a “Holiday Etsy Maternity/Postpartum Wish Lists” of sorts… [for anyone looking to buy me something — LOL!]

A non-traditional nursing cover/infinity scarf.
Like this one from etsy shop Kismet Love Collection.
Seriously. They are adorable. And they are scarves!
Gah! I’m in love.

Baby Girls’ Coming Home Outfit.
I realize absolutely zero people will see this in real life,
but lord knows I’ll be posting it on instagram, right? Ha!
This one from Adorned Baby Boutique is adorable.
I’m not big on pink, but gold? Heck yes. Give Baby Girl all the gold!

A Birthing Gown for the hospital.
I know it seems super shallow, but I honestly got one for my L&D with Ari.
And it was way more comfortable than the hospital gown.
It was plain black, but perhaps I want to go a little bit more frilly for Baby Girl? Ha.
This one from Stork Apparel is cute, but not overly girly.

Super Comfy Warm Socks.
‘Cause January is going to be mega cold, y’all.
And even though I’ve been hot-blooded this pregnancy,
I know that as soon as this baby comes, I’ll be cold. Again.
And these socks from Fir Tree Knitwear are adorable AND wool!
Swoon!

Reusable Nursing Pads.
With Moosh I used these silicone reusable nursing pads.
They were horrible. If my boobs leaked, they would itch uncontrollably.
So this time I want fabric reusable pads.
And these handmade nursing pads from Marleys Monsters are cute and inexpensive!

A Giant Warm Robe.
Cause, winter + nursing.
And this robe from Wrapped In A Cloud looks SO warm and cozy.

An Oversized Sweater.
Do you notice a theme here? Big, comfy, and warm?
Yep. Give me all the big, comfy, and warm.
I wish I could afford this giant sweater from Rose Unique Style.

I’m just loving all of this stuff. And I know none of it is necessary to have, but gosh would it be nice to be warm and cozy after Baby Girl is born! ♥

snoopy frames and stylish dreams.

June 15, 2010 by Rachel 5 Comments

I’ve recently started wearing reading glasses in addition to my contacts. Why? Because I can’t see with my contacts and reading glasses appear to help. People who have known me all of my life have been telling me how good i look in these glasses. Even earlier, I was in a store and the cashier was talking to me… mid sentence she stopped and said “You just look SO cute in those glasses.”

So this would be awesome. Except for the fact that I’ve worn glasses since I was one year old. No joke. I had eye surgery at six months, moved on to some fab eye patches (arggg!) and by one was in my first pair of plastic Snoopy frames.

{Me, circa 1989}

I was teased ALL my life for my glasses. I have a pretty rare eye condition so my glasses have always been super thick. When I was 12 I somehow convinced a very hesitant old eye doctor to give me my first pair of contacts. The ridicule had to stop at some point, right? Well, it turns out the same people who would say “wow your glasses are SO thick” are now commenting on how awesome my new look is.

I don’t know what this is all supposed to mean, but I know that it semi pisses me off {only semi though, cause I’ve got to admit, these new glasses are kinda rockin’.}.
