I forgot two things when writing Ari’s 3-month post: one of his nicknames is CrayBay because, well, sometimes he is straight up crazy. He hears that nickname when he’s screaming + arching his back. Also? This kid is practically rolling over already. Lord, help us! Ha! Soon he’ll be on the move!

I have a three-day weekend! Awesomesauce part of it all? Ari is still going to the sitter on Monday. I have a doctor appointment and then I’m going to go to Starbucks, Macbook in tow, to spend some quality time with blogs, my journal, and coffee. And, no, this doesn’t make me an awful mom. It makes me an honest one. I need a day to myself!

I’m so happy that a new season of Portlandia is on IFC. That show is amazing. And anytime someone says “Put a bird on it,” my heart smiles.

I recently heard about this cupcake/wine bar in our area. How have I not known about this!? And who wants to come with??

Some days I like to sleep in for as long as possible. While others I like to wake up before everyone else so that I have a few minutes alone.

Some days I think having ice cream for breakfast is perfectly acceptable. Especially when that day is your first day back to work and the first time leaving your baby.

Some days you need to put PJs on at 5PM. Days taking care of a fussy baby warrant this, at the very least.

Some days your wildest dreams consist of only a clean house and laundry folded. Other days

Some days are magical simply by your child falling asleep like a normal baby at a normal time. Actually, every day that your child falls asleep like a normal baby is an awesome day.

Some days a date night consists of you, your hubby and your streaming Netflix queue.

Some days anything goes. And that is totally OK with us. 🙂

I have no idea what happened to my blog to disable comments yesterday.
But it was seriously aggravating when I figured out it wasn’t working.
Grr!

Yesterday I realized that my last day of work will probably be Monday instead of Tuesday.
While this isn’t a huge deal, it may be just what I need
to finish my nesting!

This weekend I’m walking in a Breast Cancer Awareness 5k.
I’m a bit worried I’ll get a hundred yards in and have to pee.
Eh, we’ll see.

Today at work I literally did nothing. I came in and my laptop had the blue screen of death.
Eek. So I took it to our IT department and they had it until 4:30PM.

And to kind of keep with the randomness of today, I started to feel like I was getting strep throat.
I haven’t had strep in years, but it feels like I have tonsils and they are swollen to the size of tennis balls.
So it’s 6PM and I’m going to bed in 5 minutes.
Must stay healthy!

Some days call for an 8:30PM bed time.

and washing your hair with the extra awesome shampoo to try and make yourself feel better.

and eating nothing but peaches for dinner.

and avoiding any + all contact with the outside world by just settling in with a book.

and surrendering to everything you’re feeling, the good + the bad.

And that was my day yesterday.

I’m not sure why exactly I was {am?} in a funk. I came home yesterday and just told Chad I felt sad.

Days like yesterday happen. I’ll get over it.

Today is a brand new day. I’m going to savor the present and move on.

It seriously amazes me how quickly babies grow up. I’m finally all caught up on my google reader and everyone’s blogs. And I’m baffled at how all of these tiny babies and bloggers who were just pregnant (or so it would seem) now have 1- and 2-year olds!

My obsession with chevron is seriously getting out of control. Would it be acceptable to redecorate both our room and the spare room with yellow & grey chevron? You don’t need to answer, I know the answer… Definitely not acceptable.

fresh cut french fries. Damn you, Food Network. I’m fine eating whatever I have for dinner, until we watch one of your amazingly ridiculous shows about food trucks. Now all I want are fresh fries.
