Lululemon

get fit! // workout clothes // stylish + affordable

July 9, 2013 by Rachel 7 Comments

Confession: I love Lululemon.

But I don’t love their prices. A hundred bucks for a pair of workout pants?? Hell to the no!

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve bought my fair share of Lulu in the past. But I flat out just can’t afford it these days. Their products are top-notch, but their prices are ridiculous.

I’ve tried not to compare myself to the Lulu-wearing mamas on the running trails or in yoga class. Cause I flat out can’t afford to wear their uber-comfy workout clothes. Well, at least not all the time.

But guess what I’ve discovered? Target has freakin’ adorable workout clothes that are just. as. cute.

No joke.

At first I thought “really?? Target??!” but I’m a complete, 100%, Target workout clothes believer these days.

The quality may not be 100% the same, but when you’re losing weight [hooray for us!] you’ll likely be going down in sizes. So who wants to spend a gazillion dollars on a workout outfit that they’ll quick size themselves out of? Not this gal!

target vs lulu 1

The Target top on the left is actually a bit more similar to Lulu’s Power Y tank (which comes in at $52 versus the Target $18.99). And if you’re into the more open & flowy top, this Target tank & bra combo is a lot like the Lulu top pictured above.

target vs lulu 2

I have experience with personally wearing and working out in all of these clothes. I’ve got a few of the Lulu Power Y tanks, I own both of the Target tanks linked above, and after lusting and lusting over the Lulu running skirt on the right, I happened upon a nearly identical Target running skirt a few weeks ago. OMG. I was so excited. And it is so comfortable to run in!

When all is said and done, I’ll probably still lust over the Lululemon website.

And my ‘reward’ for (eventually) fitting back into my pre-pregnancy jeans still stands — those $90 pair of Lulu yoga pants are just additional incentive! But until then, you can find me wandering through the Target racks. 😉

my weekend wrap up.

April 19, 2010 by Rachel 11 Comments

I had an awesome weekend.

Friday night I went out for Mexican food & margaritas–YUM!

Needless to say, I was asleep before 9PM. You might think it’s super lame, but it was the highlight of my week!

Saturday I woke up before 8AM slept in! It was incredible. I spent the morning relaxing & packing up boxes.

Saturday afternoon I took a little adventure with Emily to Rochester {PS. You should totally check out Em’s blog! She has a great sense of style & is always posting great gluten-free vegan recipes!}.

We went to Breathe, a Baptiste power studio {the type of yoga I practice in Ohio}, to do a little shopping at the Lululemon boutique and take a class.

Technically I was shopping for my new job, so I felt absolutely zero buyers remorse for my purchases!

{Power Y Tank}

After our class we ate the most delicious food from their cafe! Exactly what my body was craving after class.

It was so nice to spend some time with Em, and to go to a yoga class with someone. I almost always end up going to classes alone {with the exception of, like 3 classes total}. It’s nice to know that the person next to you has your back 🙂

After my busy little Saturday, I was beat! I passed the heck out was asleep by 10 PM {which is relatively late for me!}.

This morning I drove all the way to Erie, Pennsylvania {a 3 and a half hour drvie from Syracuse} to meet my dad & trade vehicles with him {I had his car for a week while he repaired something on mine & I packed his up with a lot of my belongings}.

Now I am truly exhausted. Seven hours of driving in one day is far too much! But I know that this will all be over soon {the moving that is}.

So I’d say it was an absolutely successful weekend!
