post by numbers

August 11, 2009 by Rachel 8 Comments

I am a slacker. I haven’t posted a decent post since last week. UGH. This probably bums me out more than it bums you out. Today is a post by numbers:

1 – Number of days I have spent at my new job. Went well. Just overwhelming.

2 – Number of times I have been to the gym since my arrival in Syracuse at 4:00PM yesterday.

3 – Number of wine slushies I had last night.

4 – Number of times I had to get up to pee in the middle of the night because of the wine slushies.

5 – Number of Yuengling bottles I have left in the fridge (which means I only drank one tonight).

600 – Number of times I have texted/called BF since I left yesterday. But seriously, he and I have been texting and calling and we had our first GMail Video chat earlier this evening. It was fantastic to see him. This is going to sound silly, but he yawned really loud at one point and it was so loud that I could feel it on my computer. I told him it was like I was laying next to him while he yawned (yeah yeah, I know… cheesy).

Hope everyone had a good great Monday! Last chance to enter my giveaway is now! It ends at midnight. And I promise to post for real tomorrow.

Wow Wednesday – Hanging in There….

August 5, 2009 by Rachel 10 Comments

First, ENTER THIS GIVEAWAY, for goodness sake!

Yesterday my dad and I went all over looking for a new car yesterday and we found one! Well, it’s new to me, at least. I love, love, love it and now I have something more reliable for when I move far far away this weekend. What do ya think? It’s little and affordable, which is mostly why I love it so much.

Speaking of moving, I’m not sure what my deal is but I haven’t slept a wink since Saturday night. I think that this has something to do with moving (and the anxiety that comes with it) and these allergies or cold or whatever this is.

Regardless of how I’m feeling though, I must buckle down and get things done before I move. So things on my to-do list include:

-Picking some things up from Target.
-Cleaning out my car.
-Doing laundry.
-Going to Yoga tonight (must find a way to fit this in… I’m desperate for one last class with this teacher).
-Packing.
-Continue with my apartment search.
-Attend multiple outings with BF.
-Perhaps catch a midnight showing of GI Joe (don’t judge).
-Tons of other things that life throws my way in the meantime.

Also, a quick shout out to Live.Love.Laugh. for giving me the Honest Scrap award! I posted about this award a while back so here is the info for that.

So I know that I may have sounded a little cynical lately, but I truly am not. In fact, I know that I am the luckiest girl alive! BF is amazing. I have had my fair share of crappy dudes in the past, but I know that BF is absolutely, without a doubt, THE person for me.

Lately I’ve been having a few anxieties about moving away and having to deal with a long distance relationship for a bit. Today, out of nowhere… I lost it. We were at the grocery store picking up some things to make a fabulous dinner (see below), and I just started to cry. In the store. I mean really cry. At this point he smiled at me (I guess he thinks I look cute or something when I cry) and said “Aww (insert nickname that I won’t tell you here), I promise I will get there as quickly as I possibly can.”

This made me feel one hundred times better. But still, this week is going to be difficult. I’ll try not to get to sappy this week with my posts (ehh, can’t promise though).

And cause I know how much you all love lists, here are other things that made me smile today:

I woke up this morning next to my best friend.

Early morning yoga classes.

Weeding the garden.

Being crafty.

No line at the bank.

Hearing BF giggle (yes, giggle) while watching a movie last night.

And making kabobs for dinner with BF.

Oh! And staying in tonight with BF so we can watch a movie an drink yummy sangria.

Hope your Saturday is going well!

On my day off tomorrow I will…

…go to an early morning yoga class.

…spend some quality time with BF.

…eat delicious food.

…get a cupcake from Main Street Cupcakes.

…go get a little pampered.
…take a nap.
…not think of work at all.
…plan and organize.
…clean my car.
…continue to look for an apartment online.
…love every second I spend with BF.

A list? Me?? No. I’ve never been known to make lists. Not ever! 😛

City Girl over at My City Girl Life tagged me! So here I am to display my fantabulous list-making skills.

{6 Things That Make Me Happy}

1. Earning the respect of my co-workers and my managers, even though sometimes I had to really put myself out there to do so.

2. Having a great night of sleep last night.

3. Changes. Changes. Changes.

4. Planning my karaoke farewell bash.

5. Enjoying a wonderful dinner with wonderful BF tonight. Followed by some Target shopping (how grand!).

6. Knowing that the weekend is just around the corner!

So there it is. Short and sweet (this time). I’ve been tagging a lot. So here I challenge my new readers–please fill this out so that I might learn something new about all of you!! You’re it!
