Last night we went to go see Inception for our $5 movie Monday date night at Plaza Cinemas. It.was.awesome. I left the theater in tears from emotion. I seriously think that everyone should go see that movie.

Three cans of Diet Dr. Pepper in one day is too many. Even if you’re trying to burp ’cause you have a stomach ache. I found this out today.

I am loving my new job! But I must finally publish a post that I’ve been trying to write for a while about how {and why} I spent the last two or so months “seeking opportunities.” It is much more difficult to talk about that one might think.

I make BF record and then watch the Bachelorette with me. At least, I thought I made him watch it with me… until I asked BF to fast forward through a part that was annoying me {one of the many Ally crying moments} and BF said “wait, I just want to see what happens.” WTF?? For real?! So excited. Someone must be enjoying this trainwreck as much as I. 😉

I am loving my new job! It’s different from the other industries I’ve been in, so I was a little nervous. But I love it and I love my co-workers.

True story.

I have not been able to sleep. Not a wink. I think it’s been the anxiety of this week.

True story.

But that hasn’t stopped me from crawling out of bed at 4:45am the last two mornings for yoga.

True story.

Yoga has kicked my boooo-tayyyy! And I’ve loved it.

True story.

I bought 4 pounds of blueberries at Whole Foods last Friday. I’m not sure why this is important, but I feel like it should be confessed.

True story.

We started week 3 of the Couch To 5k program today. And we ROCKED it.

True story.

The one and only thing I’m looking forward to right now is sleeping in this weekend and being a super lazy bum.

Baby showers are made for uncomfortable moments. Uncomfortable moments created by myself and my friends. ‘Cause we are clingy like that {that shouldn’t make sense. It’s not supposed to}.

Hope everyone had an awesome holiday weekend! We had a small get together on Sunday and it was lovely. True story.

One of my four freshman college roommates {in Buffalo, NY} just moved to Cleveland to do her residency at Rainbow Babies and Children hospital. I’m so excited to have someone from that part of my life living close to me. She and her boyfriend came over on Sunday and it was so good to see them! True story.

We also have yet another Whitewater Rafting trip in our immediate future. We’ve been wanting to do this for a while and a great deal came up on Groupon that we just couldn’t pass up. So sometime within the next month and a half we will be heading back to West Virginia for an awesome weekend away! True story!

My mother is itching for grandchildren like you wouldn’t believe. NIM and her husband came over on Sunday as well. They brought their adorable little one {seriously NIM, if you want a night out, BF & I are babysitting!}. My mother oohed and ahhed over the little one. I was watching her to make sure she wasn’t going to steal her when NIM wasn’t looking. True story.

This resulted in my mother making even more comments to BF about when she was going to be a real grandma {instead of just to her “grandpuppies”}. True story.

Last but not least, I’m excited to announce that I will be starting a new job next Monday! I am really excited about feeling like a productive member of society again. Not that my current part-time job doesn’t count. It does, but it doesn’t fulfill me. True story.

It’s official.
I am no longer a part of corporate America!
Today was my last day.
I cried.
Partly because I was sad. Mostly because I am excited.
Leaving today signifies this huge step that I’m ready to take in my life.

One more sleep until BF comes to Syracuse.
For the last time.

But before he gets here, I’ll be going out with some friends for happy hour.
Before that I have a gazillion errnads to run.
And things to get ready for our trip to Maine.
We leave on Monday.

Part of the awesomeness that is was being in sales for a big company is the perks.
Some of our perks were incentives.
Based on sales performance, you get points.
Points get you, well, stuff.
Luckily my points came through just a few hours before my final moments.
And boy did I order stuff.
Stuff which included a Clarisonic Skin Care Plus:

Monday Mantra :: April 19th

This week is my final week at my corporate job! Which means today is my last Monday of work here. Let it be said that I have loved and appreciated my job for the last five years that I have been employed with this company. I am just extremely excited to be moving my life into a new direction!
I believe that I will be fairly useless at work this week. I’ve mentally checked out.
I’m addicted to the website Foodzie.com. For those of you unfamiliar with Foodzie, check it out at your own risk! You will find amazing things like Single Malt Scotch Bars, Cinnamon Biscuits, or 25-layer Crepe Cake!
I wish for a quick work week and easy transition on my last day.
I’m jealous of people with a hot yoga studio near them. Syracuse does not have one and I feel like I could go every day right now.

Soundtrack/Mantra for the week: Change. Every once in a while you need to shake things up and surprise everyone, including yourself.

“There’s got to be something more.” Right? Right.

That’s what I’ve been thinking so much about lately. It feels like my professional life has been eating away at my soul for about the last three months. No need to get into details, but a lot has changed from what I had originally anticipated my position being.

Crying everyday, wanting to do nothing but sleep when I’m not working, crying on the job… just not what I’d call healthy.

Have I put on a strong front? Heck yes. No one but my co-workers knew how I was feeling. No one.

Recently I let it all out. I decided I needed to make some changes {ok, well we decided to make some changes}.

So here’s the news I’ve been hiding for the last two weeks!


I am taking a job as a manager of a yoga studio… back in OHIO!

That’s right… after 9 long months of being away from BF & working a job I only kinda liked {but really liked the money}, I decided that I couldn’t do it anymore. I couldn’t take the constant pressure. While I much enjoyed my new income, I did not so much at all like the baggage that came along with.

I’m putting it on the record:

I would much rather work a job that I would enjoy doing for less money. True story. & being around the love of my life is sure to help.

So in three weeks I’ll be moving back to Ohio. For now? Just put in my resignation notice at the place that has employed me for the last five years = freaks me out a bit.

Happy hour anyone?
