HTisms

September 20, 2010 by Rachel 11 Comments

Finally a bit of internet access!

First off, California is gorgeous! But the trip to get here was… exhausting, to say the least!

Turns out I’m afraid of flying. And this is something I had forgotten. Until we were in the air. And I was mid-panic attack. Oops.

Luckily HT was there to try and calm me down. Unfortunately her idea of calming is to read to me about what she was studying… which was HIV/AIDS. Not that calming, actually.

Also not comforting? Saying “Don’t worry. If we crash we’ll die on impact.” Super.

But all is well now that I have two-feet on the ground!

I’ll be back to regularly scheduled blogging soon! In the meantime don’t forget to enter my Chili’s Dinner for Two giveaway!

the awesomeness that is HT.

August 3, 2010 by Rachel 6 Comments

So my awesome co-worker, we’ll call her Hakio Tumlaw
{or HT for short — and yes I realize it’s a weird name. It’s supposed to be},
says hilarious things.
Like, every day, all day. It’s not her fault though. Let me explain.

Today she went to the store during our lunch break.

While walking to her car, she sees a woman with a huge rip up her dress…
all the way up to her butt.
She hesitated…
not sure whether or not to tell the woman about the rip in her dress.

As HT is pulling out of the parking spot, she rolls her window down and says,
“excuse me? Um, I think your dress is ripped.”

The woman just laughed at HT.
It wasn’t a rip. It was a slit… a very high slit.

HT later explained that she didn’t want to NOT say something for fear that the woman would go all day and no one would tell her that her dress was torn. See? How sweet is that?? Regardless of inserting her foot in her mouth on a regular basis, the girl had good intentions!

And she seriously keeps me laughing all day.
And I can be happy I’m not inserting my foot in my mouth for once. Just sayin’.

Love ya, HT!
