{ weekly mantra }

May 21, 2012 by Rachel 2 Comments

This week will consist of work and lots of crafting. I’ve planned a lot of DIY projects for our reception. DIY is way easier said than done. Eek!

I believe in taking long, hot, showers. Seriously. They are fantastic. It’s one of the few indulgences I’ve taken during my pregnancy thus far. So awesome!

I’m addicted to etsy. Why DIY when someone else can do it for you? 🙂

I wish for restful nights this week. Last week I really didn’t sleep well.

I’m happy because today is our one-month wedding anniversary! Every day is worth celebrating!

Weekly mantra: ya know what? How about we go with “Every day is worth celebrating!” Seems perfect!

♥ our wedding ♥

April 27, 2012 by Rachel 9 Comments

Over our wedding weekend, we fell in love.

More in love with each other;
in love with Maine (again);
and totally in love with our photographer,
Justine Johnson.

Even though we eloped, it didn’t go unplanned.
In fact, we had a pretty specific vision for our special day.

I found Justine’s photographs on APracticalWedding.com.
Even if you’re not planning a wedding or elopement,
this blog is always a good read.

From first contact with Justine, I knew it was a great fit.
It can be difficult to trust someone you’ve never met,
with something like your wedding pictures.

But it was a wedding vendor match made in elopement heaven!

So the rest of this post = less words, more pictures.

Thanksgiving
is over… and I am exhausted!
Tons of
food, family and fun
but also?
exhausting.
Time to
decompress with some recent

fave links from the interwebs:

– Kevin Murphy Color Bug rinse out purple hair color.
Love. Seriously considering
purchasing some on ebay.
– This
wallpaper design on one-wall only.

{photo credit}
or maybe this wallpaper. I *love* it!
{can be purchased here}

– Great Lakes Brewing Company Christmas Ale.
For those of you out there who have never had this,
run out {yes, run} and hunt it down.
Not only is this a local brewery {yay for local!}
but it is amazeballs.
And it sells out mega fast.
{it’s a good thing we end up getting a few packs as Xmas gifts}

– My new coasters!
I ordered them from
etsy store Made By Marcy
{whose shop I found via heartsy}

– The tutorial I used to make this pretty little thing:

This week I will grow even more in my yoga practice! {at least, that’s the goal!}
{recent Etsy purchases*}
I believe in surrounding myself with people who love me!

I’m addicted to Etsy. Seriously. I spend hours marking things as ‘favorites.’
I wish for a fast, but fun, work week. Our office has been tense the last couple of weeks because everyone has been stressed. It makes me more stressed when I see those around me are stressing; so I’d really like for everyone to just have one week of work happiness!

I’m jealous of no one still. I am so happy with my life! And thank you to everyone who is a part of it.

etsy finds.

Yesterday I came home to a package of goodies from a recent Etsy purchase.
Have you heard of Heartsy?
It’s a new Groupon-ish website,
but for Etsy stores!
I purchased a Heartsy credit to this adorable store, kngo.
{my new mugs!}
I purchased two mugs. One says “shine on you crazy diamond,”
and the other says “love wins.”

In addition to these gems,
I purchased a credit to Homesteading Roasters on Heartsy.
They specialize in coffee beans, shortbread cookies, and graham crackers.
{homestead roasters}
I haven’t ordered from them yet,
but they look incredible and I’m so excited to place my order!

Any Etsy finds that you would recommend?
{I’m always looking for a new store!}

things i’m loving/things i’m doing.

December 2, 2009 by Rachel 14 Comments

So I have a TON to update y’all on! But this is more of a “Fun With Bullet Points” type of post today.

Things that I am loving:

– Vintage Confections Etsy store. Awesomeness. Red Velvet Truffles? Sign me up!

– The Super Sauce. Check out their online store. BF & I tried this (& bought two jars) at the Fab Food Show and we are already out! It’s delicious on sandwiches. I must order more. Now.

– Lisa’s Hillside Bakery. The vanilla peppermint bark looks incredible.

– I know I have previous talked about Wine-a-ritas…. but I’ve been converted! I have a new wine slushie mix that will forever have my heart. It’s called Frappe Vino. The reason that it is more awesome than the other? Because it is: a) cheaper, and b) it doesn’t require a blender! You actually just need to pour a bottle of wine into a ziploc bag, pour in the mix, and mix in some water! It turns to a slush consistency within just a few hours!

Things that I am doing:

– Yesterday I gave blood and came wicked close to passing out. I’m sure I’ll do it
again sometime, but I’m going to block this experience out of my head.

– Tracy convinced me to do a Polar Bear Plunge with her in January. I think it will be fun (note: I usually think other painful things, like tattoos, will be fun as well. I usually realize I’m freaked out just moments before the big event).

– Tomorrow is my last Provisional Junior League meeting. Which means next Tuesday I become a for real member! We are going to this fantastic restaurant in Syracuse called Pascale’s Wine Bar & Restaurant, which I’ve never been to, but I’ve heard is awesome.

– I’ll be joining a running group this Sunday. I’m pretty excited about that. But I’m also going to go to a Body Boot Camp workout after that. I’m excited for both. I think I can handle a back to back workout. Right?

Hope everyone is as excited as I am that this week is almost over!
