Denver

Denver 2010.

November 30, 2010 by Rachel 7 Comments

For the last week, BF and I have been visiting his family in Denver.
We spent 7 days playing with four little kids and taking
in a lot of family visiting time.
It was nice to get away, but I’m very happy to be home.
Saturday my parents came over for a little Fakesgiving
{…you know, cause we weren’t around for Thanksgiving on
Thursday to celebrate with them…}.
They watched the puppies while we were gone,
so we were finally reunited with our ‘kids’ after a long week apart.
It was torture being away from them for so long.
I’ll admit, the first night without them we were all “Hoooooray!”
but life certainly isn’t the same with out their constant nonsense.
After our Fakesgiving meal, we gave my parents a photo recap of our week in Denver…
There was baby holding…
And Mango Pinkberry eating…
and more baby holding…
And bubble tea drinking…
And Turkey frying…
And picture posing!

I already cannot wait for next Thanksgiving!

Happy day after Thanksgiving and Black Friday!

I have accidentally been very absent the last few days.

I have been in Denver, Colorado since last Saturday and, unexpectedly,
my MacBook wasn’t agreeing with the wireless connection here…
So, I was without my computer — GASP!

It hasn’t been entirely awful without my computer.

I’ve had my iPhone and BFs laptop.
And I’ve been focusing on being offline.
So I am back and feeling refreshed!
I’ll be back to my regular blogging tomorrow once I’m back in Ohio
and have slept in my own bed for at least 10 hours.
Until then, a quick glimpse into what we’ve been doing for the last 7 days:

the most wonderful time of the year.

How I know my favorite season is here:

1. Pumpkin everything. And. I. Love.it.

2. I no longer am getting funny looks for wearing 3 layers of clothing. Note: People do not think cardigans are appropriate summer attire.

3. We are five days away from my birthday. Yep, the big 2-6 is upon us!

4. I don’t recall the leaves changing color, but suddenly fallen leaves are all over our yard.

5. I want to do nothing more than cozy up with BF near the fire and watch awesome Fall TV, like Glee. Another sidenote: Holy heck I love that show.

6. We are thisclose to my fave holiday, Thanksgiving. Which means I am inches from going to Denver for the first time for Thanksgiving.

7. Football is back and the Bills are still losing, and I still love them. And I know have an excuse to drink beer and eat hotdogs on a Sunday again. Win!

8. Chili and amazing breads are back to being a staple in our diets.

9. Gray skies: they are just comforting this time of year.

10. Marking the anniversary of another year with BF. Yes, this just got a little cheesy. And now it’s done.

It’s business time Wednesday! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, see here!

So today is the day! And by that I mean, it’s the LAST day BF is in Denver! I get to pick him up from the airport around midnight tonight. While I’m not too thrilled about the time of his arrival (I like to get my sleep!) I am very happy that he is coming home. So perhaps I will forgive him for arriving so late in the evening.

All I have to do is get through today.

Which, of course, will be ridiculously long. I started my morning by going to a 6AM yoga class. It wasn’t my best practice, but then again, I did take a late class last night. So the only thing I had separating the yoga classes was 5 hours of sleep (ouch!). So this morning I had to wake up at 4:30 to get to yoga on time. Turns out the Starbucks near the studio doesn’t open until after 6… I just don’t understand this… Does this puzzle other people? Shouldn’t SBUX open before 6?? Anyway… where was I?

Ahh yes. Now I’m at work. Catching up on some things at work today, but really, really itching to get outta here. Received some fairly awful news about a co-worker today. Will probably make me post something much more serious at a later date (time?). For now, enjoy Business Time!

XOXO
