Just a quick weekend wrap-up: I did mostly nothing this weekend & it was lovely. I did watch Law Abiding Citizen & Jesus Camp. For the record, Law Abiding Citizen was good, and Jesus Camp was terrifying. Like straight up scared for my life. But more on that later. It’s time for this weeks mantra!
This week I will be extremely emotional. I’ve accepted this. Nothing I can do about it.
I believe in weekends and cupcakes.
I’m addicted to Cherry Diet Dr. Pepper. I’m drinking one with my breakfast right now.
I wish for a few things to happen sooner than they probably will.
I’m jealous of people who are living in the same state as their significant other.
Soundtrack/Mantra for the week: “Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.” -Oprah {keeping it the same as last week}
True story.
After yoga I picked up some beautiful buckeye cupcakes with chocolate frosting from my favorite cupcakery. We ate them for breakfast on Saturday.
True story.
Saturday we spent hours (literally) walking around the food show. We barely spent any money (awesome), spent a lot of time with friends (also awesome) and ate free food all day (awesome… until the point where “full” turned into “about to explode” and I got crabby).
True story.
Even though BF was tired after the food show, he drove to the outlet mall so that I could get my very first pretty, pretty, expensive purse. I may or may not have spent the rest of the weekend staring at it and telling it how pretty it is.
True story.
Sunday we went to an early showing of 2012. It was a great movie, but a bit long (meaning I had to pee three times during the movie). I recommend it.
True story.
After the movie, I lost BF in Target. I found him wandering in the cereal aisle. Luckily he was searching for my favorite, Chucky Larms, so we could eat them for breakfast.
True story.
We went to Fakesgiving at my Aunts house on Sunday. There may have almost been a brawl thanks to someones (mine?) bright idea to play Cranium Men vs. Women.
True story.
Monday morning I did not want to get out of bed. I knew it was the last day I would be waking up next to him for a couple of weeks. But I dragged my butt out of bed, ate some Lucky Charms and went to go see A Christmas Carol in 3D. I will never forgive BF for making me see this. I was terrified. Terrified. Do not take your children to see this movie.
True story.
I am super worried about work for the rest of this week. It’s causing major anxiety right now. I had Friday off and Monday off, so I am terrified that when I go into work there is nothing that will help that craziness. Sigh.
True story.
True story.
…I slept in Friday morning with BF in his amazingly comfortable bed.
…when we woke up, he took me to go get some delicious cupcakes from, where else, my favorite cupcake shop –
Main Street Cupcakes!…then he took me to
Aladdins where we split some delicious Aladdin’s hummus, cinnamon beef, rice, and falaffel! Aladdin’s will forever be one of my favorite places to eat.…after lunch I expressed interest in getting my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season! So guess who took me to Starbucks for a latte? You guessed it! My favorite guy.
…After our Starbucks adventure, we headed back to his house for some serious rest and relaxation! We took a three hour nap!! and holy smokes was it awesome!
…we spent the rest of our Friday night making homemade sushi and watching a movie.
True story.
…on Saturday we woke up around 10am (crazy, I know!) and BF had a day of surprises planned for me!
…first we went to an early showing of “
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” in 3D. Ummm… AWESOME! 🙂…then he took me out to lunch at this fantastic little
BBQ place where I nibbled on some BBQ Pulled Pork (personal favorite and also what we both ate on our first date) and cornbread!…after lunch we had tickets for
The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. Which was incredible! We rode on the train for about three hours. And we listened to a guided tour and snuggled up in our train seats!…on Sunday we headed to my parents house for a HUGE lunch of crab legs, shrimp, lobster tail, homemade mac and cheese, and sweet potato fries! HEAVEN! Oh my gosh. It was incredible. BF and I ate a lot of delicious seafood.
…sadly I then had to head back to Syracuse.
So I had an awesome weekend. TRUE STORY.
So I didn’t do many of the things on my to do list today. But I did do the most important thing:
Spend some serious quality time with BF.
I got out of bed at 5am to go to my yoga class. I put my contacts in, put my yoga clothes on and got in my car. And then I realized. I will be leaving in a week and a half. Why am I going to yoga instead of spending some serious snuggle time in bed with the man of my dreams?!? I promptly got out of my car, took my contacts back out, changed back into my PJs and jumped back into bed with BF. Later when we woke up, BF told me he just knew I wasn’t going to yoga. 🙂 I really love him.
So we went to get cupcakes, we split a sandwich, we drove up to the art museum in Cleveland, went for a stroll through Coventry (an artsy neighborhood in Cleveland), ate a grilled cheese sandwich, split some Peach-Mango Gelato, browsed through Crate and Barrel, and stopped by Trader Joes. After all the running around today it was nice to come home and snuggle up on the couch to watch a movie.
Hope everyone else had a wonderful day!
On my day off tomorrow I will…
