St. Patty’s Day blues?

March 17, 2009 by Rachel 1 Comment

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! …from the 1/2 Irish – 1/2 Italian girl. πŸ™‚

-Today is busy. Work early. Training new hires all day.
-Exhausted. Went to sleep at 9pm last night (I was very crabby). Woke up at 1:00am with a belly ache & leg pains. Didn’t fall back asleep until 2:30am.
-Did NOT eat a healthy lunch, but it was delicious! I had a hamburger, which is something I don’t eat very often and it was fantastic. πŸ™‚
-Is it Friday yet??
-Corned beef & Cabbage later at BFs. Yum.
-Hoping my mood gets better. My hopes are set low today.

life is complicated.

March 16, 2009 by Rachel Leave a Comment

I feel my stress levels rising. This week will be pretty intense at work. I have a lot going on at work and a crazy amount of pressure on me.Β

I’ve also noticed some emotions rising and what I fear to be a serious bout of PMS headed this way. I am not a fan of being irrationally emotional… and this is what happens. I am exhausted before it even begins.

I guess I haven’t really felt like myself lately. At all. I’ve been bottling up some emotions. Hardcore. I haven’t really opened up to anyone about it. And feeling this way is making me just want to run rather than actually handle the issues in front of me. I don’t know what to do. Life is too complicated.

Blahhh. Sigh.Β

Getting creative.

March 14, 2009 by Rachel 1 Comment

Last night I had an excellent time with my aunts & cousin. We went to a pottery painting place, which was so much fun. When I lived in Syracuse, NY I used to go to this one place all the time. Whenever I was feeling low or like I needed to let out some creative energy, I would paint “masterpieces,” …. or chip & dip bowls. LOL. I was really struggling. I wasn’t feeling very creative tonight. And, what is usually a solitary experience, was much different. My family is VERY loud and VERY Italian. But the ladies who owned the shop were fantastic and really sparked some creative energy into me! So, needless to say, I’m pretty sure I created the MOST awesome spoon rest of all time. πŸ˜‰

This morning I went to a 9:30 yoga class. I was joined by my aunt Denise and my cousin Chrissy. I was so pumped to have people join me. Until recent, I had been unsuccessful at getting anyone to join me in this AMAZING experience! We had a great practice today. I feel good… minus the normal yoga aches and pains. I am going to need a serious massage later!

So I’m gonna finish up my taxes today (hopefully), run a couple of errands, and then go to see BF. We are going to make pulled pork! We are both pretty big fans of the pulled pork sandwich. Brings back a couple of first date memories too.

I’m a busy little bee!

March 12, 2009 by Rachel 2 Comments

Yoga last night was AMAZING. I am so glad I found Terri’s class @ Cleveland Yoga. I usually take classes taught by Amy, Tami, or Parker, so this class is a HUGE change of pace (as much as Power Vinyasa Yoga can ‘change’ between teachers). I love it!

After yoga I went out with my sister and a couple of friends for a beer. Wow. Haven’t really had a drink in a while. Who knew a couple beers would make me feel like that!? Not again for a while!

I woke up this morning, already having the intention of calling off of work to run some very important errands. I thought I would get up and go to a 6:15 yoga class (yes, on my day off I had every intention of getting up just as early). But that didn’t happen. And that’s ok! There’s always tomorrow. πŸ™‚ I slept in until 10am! Woah! πŸ™‚

Took the dog to the vet. Nothing major. He was just due for a rabies vaccination. I had the doc check his ears too (he’s a cocker spaniel and his ears get infected a LOT and stink!). I don’t mind taking him to the vet, but holy $100 vet bill! Outrageous! $18 just for the cotton swab to look at his infected ears? WTF. But oh well. It’s gotta be done.

Then I went to the one place I vowed NEVER to go to again. Wal-Mart. Yes. I had to go there. Why? Because it’s the ONLY place that sells Sabra Roasted Red Pepper Hummus. Seriously THE best hummus ever. Aaaaannnndddd it’s only sold at Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club or Costco. All of the places that I hate. So I sucked it up and went to the place that I hate the most.
Then off to the Whole Foods Market — one of my favorite places in the whole world! Going to make pulled pork with the boyfriend tomorrow so we needed a couple things. BUT of course I also picked up a few other goodies (Morningstar Farms Veggie Buffalo Chicken Bites, cookies, pita–for the hummus, of course, fruit and some blackberry wine!). I had to convince myself to leave Whole Foods… I could stay there for hours.

After Whole Foods I ran to Starbucks (surprise, surprise). I think I get headaches if I don’t get my daily Starbucks fix… sad, I know. It was nice to drive down to CF and not be in a hurry. I knew the BF would still be working, so I wasn’t as worried about driving, which I usually dread. So when I got here, I started my good-girlfriend duties! Folded some laundry; put the groceries away; cleaned the bathroom; did the dishes; did some investigating for a new washer. These are actually all things I don’t mind at all doing anyways, so it isn’t a big deal. πŸ™‚

So what does this all mean? All I’m really trying to say, is a GREAT day. Sometimes you just need to take a day off work to do the things that need to get done. AND to relax, which is what I will be doing for the rest of the night.

Hope everyone else is having a great Thursday! One more day til the “real” weekend begins!

Thoughts before bed

March 11, 2009 by Rachel 2 Comments

-I made cranberry oatmeal chip cookies tonight and they are fantastic.
-I started the day off rough, hit a high spot this afternoon, but find myself ending the day as it began.
-I should get paid more.
