So much has happened this year. I’ve been all over and so much has changed.
To think exactly one year ago, December 31st, 2009, BF was visiting me in Syracuse. We went to dinner at a Thai restaurant and stopped by a friends house for a quick hello, before falling asleep to the ball dropping on TV.
In January 2010, I did the Polar Bear Plunge in Baldwinsville, NY, with friends Tracy & Robin and froze my butt off! Ha! The video still cracks me up!
In February 2010, I celebrated Valentines Day with BF by making delicious lobster BLT sandwiches and found a new, bigger, apartment in Syracuse.
In March 2010, I moved into the new apartment and found out it had mice. Lots and lots of mice. To top it off, all three of my email accounts and facebook account got hijacked and I learned what you’re supposed to do to protect yourself from these security breaches. On a better note, I got my kitchenaid mixer in the mail that month.
In April 2010, I put my two-weeks in at the place that had employed me for 5 years. I had officially made the decision to move back to Ohio to take a job doing something I thought would be awesome. In the last week of April, BF and I took an amazing trip to Portland, Maine, ate a ton of seafood, and then moved all of my stuff out of my ‘new’ mouse-ridden apartment and headed back to Ohio.
In May 2010, I moved back to Ohio and in with BF; I watched my sister graduate from college and the new job that I had quit my other stable job for, completely fell through. This launched me into a depression that I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned before here. Also, we adopted a new dog, Pepper!
In June 2010, I tried to detox, went to a couple of baseball games, enjoyed the Tribe Social Deck, sunned myself by the pool with friends, and became an Ohioan again.
In July 2010, I met the man who killed my grandfather 20 years ago; we had people over for the 4th of July; we enjoyed the summer weather; we saw Inception; and I started a new job! The downside of July was that I got very, very ill and almost had to go to the Emergency Room.
In August 2010, we learned the hard way that Pepper the 4-year old dog was neither fixed nor four years old when she suddenly went into heat; my best friend got engaged; and BF and I planned a little getaway to West Virginia to go whitewater rafting {and it was anything but relaxing}; and I met Analiese from Tulips and Tea!
In September 2010, we finished the Couch 2 5k program; saw the Cleveland Browns play a pre-season game; and traveled to LA for 5 days for work.
In October 2010, I celebrated my 26th birthday by going to Vegeterranian in Akron with BF; then we went to see the Last Comic Standing tour at the House of Blues Cleveland; I ran my first 5k race in years; we went to our neighbors halloween party; we went to an Akron Zips football game; I traveled to North Carolina for work; I went wedding dress shopping with my best friends; we handed out candy to trick-or-treaters; and we started our month long detox program.
In November 2010, we successfully finished the month-long detox program; I quit caffeine for good; we traveled to Denver, Colorado for Thanksgiving; we painted pottery and went to see a play; and I got a new car.
In December 2010, I baked a lot of cookies — a LOT; we went to my mom’s family’s Christmas party; I got an iPad and a Kindle; we spent Christmas Eve with BFs family and Christmas day with my family in the Emergency Room.
2010 was way different than I ever expected. And I’m definitely excited to see what 2011 brings!

You had an amazing year, my friend. I don't think I ever knew the job fell through. However, it is clear that you are full of resilience and continue to make the best of any situation! Happy New Year!
