We may be in the darkest depths of winter (a big UGH to that time from New Years to about the beginning of May), but in Northeast Ohio, there are plenty of things to do and fun places to explore and keep us occupied! Sure, we may have to go out into the cold; but once you’re there, the city promises not to disappoint!
Here are a few things that are on my agenda this week!
Mythbusters: The Explosive Exhibition // Great Lakes Science Center // Ongoing thru May 7th
This family friendly exhibition allows you to get into the action of real-life myth-busting! $23 (adult), $20 (ages 2 – 12), free for children under 2! Admission to the exhibit also gets you in to check out the rest of the long-standing exhibits!
This donation-based, all-levels vinyasa flow, class occurs in the heart of downtown Akron! How awesome would it be to practice at this historic theater!?
Summed up from their FB page: “Cupid’s Undie Run in Cleveland is a 1-milesh fun run in your bedroom-best in Tremont on Valentine’s Day weekend, Saturday, February 14th, 2015, to raise money for The Children’s Tumor Foundation and awareness for Neurofibromatosis – a rare tumor condition that debilitates the nervous system and has no treatments or cure. No, we’re not crazy, we’re just crazy serious about raising money for The Children’s Tumor Foundation. Last year, we raised over $2.8 Million in donations, so come join the fun and help us hit $4 Million for 2015!”
$55 for registration (run + party!).
I wish I could be participating, but I’ll be working! So have fun, friends!
Here’s your chance to see an amazing movie in a one-of-a-kind local indie-theater! Check their website for a full list of showtimes, but be sure to see this movie! It’s crazy good. [$8.50 for an adult ticket]
If you’re looking to make some home renovations this Spring, this huge event is full of inspiration. Last year we had a blast planning our ‘dream home’ (which is literally, just a dream); especially the outdoor/patio/garden displays. OMG … amazing.
Tickets are $15 at the door, or purchase them online for a $3 discount.
I’m always looking for ways to get Moosh out of the house for an afternoon of movies, art, and crafts! Bonus? It’s a FREE event!
“The Akron Art Museum and Nightlight Cinema invite parents to bring their young film connoisseurs to the museum for an afternoon of engaging, high-quality family films in the Charles and Jane Lehner Auditorium. Take a popcorn break between the scenes and enjoy film-inspired art activities to take home.”
Need yet another reason to visit the Cleveland Museum of Art? Well go in for some pre-Valentine’s Day shopping, sip on some bubbly, and check out the exhibits!
